The attitude of the staff in this hotel is very good. Both the receptionist and the waiters in the restaurant are polite. The materials used in the room are of good quality, clean and hygienic, which reflects the good management of the hotel and is satisfactory. The hotel is still very new and I hope it can maintain its quality.

We needed a 3bed apt for 5pax (we had a function across the road) - this option was only available on their website. From our call, the reservations team was clearly disinterested in our booking. We figured it out ourselves. Later, because of Ebola related concerns, we needed to adjust the reservation. Tonny answered the first inquiry email clarifying how to cancel the booking, but the team completely ignored all subsequent correspondence about our refund - despite the fact that we gave almost a weeks' notice. Guess the silence means they've chosen not to refund any part of the cash. We're not in Uganda so not much can be done about this. Hopefully this review serves as a warning to others.

The hotel is clean and the food was amazing. I was recommended by one of the workers there. I enjoyed my stay but I noticed something as staff weren't that happy. Heard some in the corridors saying "why do we give all if we're not paid yet?" Please look into that.

I had my wedding reception at this hotel, where I booked the entire event space and paid for the food. The operations manager, Miriam, repeatedly altered the pricing and demanded cash payments. On the event day, the space was dirty and not properly set up, and they allowed other people into the area despite it being reserved solely for my event. The day after checking out, I inquired about any outstanding charges and was informed there were none. However, a few hours later, Miriam called me with threats, claiming an additional 600,000 Ugandan shillings was owed. This was both shocking and absurd—how could they claim I owed money after I had already checked out? When I returned to the hotel to speak with the general manager, the staff informed me he was unavailable and were hesitant to provide his name. I managed to find his contact information through a quick online search and discovered he was at the hotel the entire time. Having traveled extensively and stayed at many hotels, I have never encountered such a level of incompetence. I had high hopes for this hotel and venue but I wouldn't even stay here for free.

I stayed at Zara Garden Hotel the last week in August 2024 - total 5 days. Loved the room, the staff were great, and the the food was good. However, when I left early morning for the airport, I asked the lobby staff for the bill, and paid in full. Before I left, I asked the that I had the total bill, including the food and drinks. Twice I asked, then I left using the hotels airport shuttle. I just arrived at the airport and checked in when I was getting some frantic calls. Apparently, an associate had booking in "on my account" which was then seen as unpaid. Management - Mirriam - started threatening me with all sorts of action including going to the SA embassy. When I told her that payment would actually come from the UK, she said this was not her problem. She only wanted payment. Said she was in the industry for 8 years and knew what she was talking about. To management - you need to retrain this lady. If not, you will kill your business.

The hotel staff here are always around to make sure you’re happy and sorted, customer service is on point. The room was AMAZING, super clean and just feels like “home”. The views from the rooftop bar are actually insane and I think this is what makes Zara Garden a hidden gem! We Will definitely be staying here whenever we’re in Kampala, compared to the busier city centre hotels. ＜3
