To Sounkyo for the first time for the purpose of the Icefall Festival. This time I booked a Chaoyang resort near the venue. The decisive factor was that there was a free transfer from Asahikawa. However, on this day, both round trips were canceled, probably because there were few bus reservations. But it was good that the bus fare was for a round trip. It's a bigger hotel than I expected, and the exterior looks like a mountain lodge in the European Alps? This time, I booked Japanese Modern. It's a little small but I like the design. However, be careful as the small steps when going to bed are easy to stumble. Equipped with a kettle pot and tea set. Amenities such as toothbrushes and shavings are styles that you bring from the front desk. There are two large communal baths with a small open-air hot spring. Replacement system for men and women. The open-air bath while looking at the way is pleasant. The quality of the spring was also unexpectedly very good. The meal is buffet with dinner Japanese food. Depending on the word of mouth, it was not good, but there are a wide variety of dishes with local cuisine motifs centered on four countries around the Alps, which is good for Western food lovers. The taste was not bad either. There are also Japanese food such as sashimi and pot. The price was reasonable and there was a round-trip transfer and the staff was nice. Recommended inn.

The hotel facilities are great. I was a little worried after reading the reviews saying it was old, but it didn't feel old at all. There are foreign workers among the waiters, which is very convenient for communicating in Chinese and English among Hokkaido hotels. The buffet dinner is very good and it is very close to the Kurodake Cable Car.

I came here advised by the staff at my hostel, looking for a tattoo-friendly onsen. This is a large, fancy resort and I don't deny I felt a little out of place at first 😁 The place is super nice, yet the entrance (without towel fee) is only 1000 yen, or 800 if you have the discount coupon from the hostel, which is conveniently next door. I have very large, very visible tattoos (including on my arms, legs and neck) and I was allowed entrance without any issues, although in some of the bath areas there are signs that say ”No tattooes”, which I figure must be old. There are a few different pools, both indoor and outdoor, including an open-air bath on the 7th floor, overlooking the magnificent mountains and gorge. I was the only foreigner and the only person with tattoos. I'm so stoked I could experience such a place, definitely worth visiting if you have tattoos and are in the Daisetsuzan area!

The room was big and spacious, located near the Kurodake ropeway so location was great. But the hotel is a bit old. Surfaces in the room were dusty as well. The service staff who helped us was very nice though. He helped us to bring our baggage in as it was raining. There is a nice ramen shop that is a 5min walk away from the hotel.

The hotel has only one advantage near the station, but it is not easy to pull a luggage to the station in heavy snow. The hotel does not provide pick-up and drop-off. It seems that there is no vehicle to send guests outside the snow and the whole snow recently. The hotel is cheap so the Wendian is very simple. One night of dinner was a buffet with more fruit oranges. I ate about four or so. Because I cut so few pieces, the waiter immediately black noodles. I told me not to take it in Japanese. In fact, the food was wasteless. The restaurant would not do this. In fact, I observed a lot of travel and stayed in a nearby hotel. Because it was a holiday, I stayed in Zhongfu first, this hotel is really bad in Laiyunxia.

From Tokyo to Hokkaido, the first stop to enjoy the nature of Hokkaido Laiyun Gorge. There are many restaurants to choose from, and there are many hot springs surrounded by snowy mountains. Laiyun Pavilion MOUNTAIN RESORT 1923 is one of the hot spring hotels in the Yunxia area on the first and second floors. When I was collecting data, I was attracted by the stove in the lobby at a glance, and I decided to book it. It can provide a luxurious accommodation experience, and there is also a location for parking, suitable for friends traveling by car. Because most of our trips are around Laiyunxia, we booked directly for two nights. After driving, take a break and then arrive at dinner time. The first night and the second night of the reservation were different, and the price was of course a bit different. The limited ”food thing” during the first night of eating, the crab royal meal (JPY 18440) average HKD 960 per person has one berth and two meals. And there was only us that night. Other guests should eat the buffet (we chose this for the second night) very rich imperial meals, except that the meat is very tough, the others are delicious. Especially the steamed eggs and that meal. Hot pot is impeccable when it is cold. The key crab is one person, and there are many crab paste in the crab shell. The crab has been removed in advance, it is very convenient to eat, and I am not afraid to do not know how to remove the crab. The crab meat of the whole crab is full of a bowl, and the crab meat is very sweet and super satisfying. The last dessert ice cream is suitable for the end. We stayed in the same room for two nights, and it happened to be the open-air hot spring floor, which was super convenient. I lived in the room [8 stacks ～ 12 stacks], very spacious and comfortable. The decoration of the room is warm, the equipment is complete, there is a work desk, combing, TV, coffee table, etc. There are welcome snacks in the room. The ”first day of the year” is delicious. If you are interested, you can buy it in the store. There are also tea making utensils, and you can sigh tea in the room after soaking in the hot spring. There is a bathrobe in the cabinet, if the size is not suitable, you can pick up the right size in the lobby. In addition, when we came back after dinner, the mattress had helped to organize it. The bathroom is dry and wet. Because I went to the hot springs for two days, the bathtub in the room was actually useless. If you need toiletries, you have to take them in the lobby. The room is not placed. Although there are open-air hot springs, it is the first time that it is snowing/watching the snow scene. While soaking in the hot springs, feeling the cold air, the experience is very special. After soaking in the hot springs, you can also buy coffee and milk to drink, and there will be a resting place. In fact, there is a large bathing area in Laiyun Pavilion. There are more people than the open-air hot springs, so I didn't go. In addition to the hot springs, I don't want to stay in the room and go to the play area. Not too big, there are several game consoles and doll machines to entertain. Breakfast and dinner for the second night will be served in the same restaurant and are buffet style. The next day's one berth and two meals are JPY 15140. Average HKD 790 per person. If you stay for two nights like me, you can consider this arrangement. The dinner buffet will have roast crab feet, sashimi, sushi, etc. The CP value is really high. In addition, there are tempura, teppanyaki, etc., all prepared by chefs in the open kitchen, each one is very attractive. There are many choices, whether you like seafood or meat, you can meet it. Of course, there will be no less desserts and fruits. The breakfast two meals are roughly the same, but there are a few changes in style. But the most attractive thing is that you can make your own seafood rice. Other cooked foods are not bad. Japanese breakfast is provided, of course there is also a Western breakfast. The desserts here are delicious, I didn't expect to have French caramel quail eggs in the morning. There are also wine-flavored lamb dumplings, which can also be bought in the store. Total:JPY 33580 (two berries and four meals) about HKD 1750 per person. Whether it is accommodation experience, dining or hot springs, there are high evaluations. I recommend everyone to stay at this hotel if you come to Laiyunxia.
