The location is absolutely stunning and the hotel is great too. I recommend everyone especially westerners to book a Japanese style room. It's a great experience. The open air hot spring is great too.

The hotel was newly renovated. I like the design of the lobby and our room on the top floor. All the staff at the check in counter and hotel restaurants were polite and friendly. Carlos was the most helpful and considerate staff. He not only helped us to make phone reservation with a restaurant but also took initiative to give us good advice.

Sounkaku, located in the Daisetsu Mountains, has a great view. It is very convenient to go to Kurodake. It only takes 2 minutes to drive to the Kurodake Ropeway Station. On the same day, you can even see Ezo deer🫎 which is awesome🥰🥰
