Katerina Apartments

When we arrived our room wasn't ready so we were able to leave our bags at reception. The owner was very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were basic but clean. One thing we found annoying and different to hotels was that you have to pay to use the air conditioning. We rate the pool very highly, it's a lovely area to chill out and was the only hotel out of the 4 that we stayed throughout our trip that did not close early. The bar was exceptional with lovely food available throughout the day and there was a good breakfast available at the mornings. We would stay here again.

On arrival the hotelier told us our room were tired and in need of an up grade. 2 days after returning I was diagnosed with Legionella, contract from their water source. Legionella screening should occur minimum monthly, and taps in empty room should be run to flush through this potentially life threatening bug.

Absolutely the best holiday we had in a long time. The hotel is small and cosy with a bohemian feel- very chilled and quiet but close to the hustle and bustle of the busy harbour and old town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The pool is fantastic with comfy sun beds. The grounds are clean and pretty. It’s very charming little gem. The hosts are local family where the parents and kids all work together to make holidays the best experience for the tourists. The other guests were from all over Europe and not that many English. Hotel serves food and drinks all day. The breakfast is simple but not basic and very tasty, fresh and really nice- all you need. We absolutely loved our time there. We went for 12 days with 12 and 5 yo boys. They loved it too. The whole island is charming with very friendly locals! We used public transport and visited 3 other islands nearby. I already recommended this place to my friends. I would love to go back. Thank you the host for fab hospitality.

Fabulous accommodation - been to Kálymnos 1 or 2 times a year for 30 years and stayed in many different hotels/apartments. This has to be the best. Run by Ramona and her lovely family - great rooms, clean, comfy, shower always hot, beautiful pool area, pool bar is lovely and serves fab food. Very close to Pothia but once inside it was so peaceful. I would not hesitate to recommend this little jewel to anyone - superb 👌🏿 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿

These apartments are rated as 2 star which is a good reflection of them. The grounds are very pleasant and the pool is lovely and clean. Position wise the apartments are about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Pothia, but you take your chances with the traffic walking into Pothia as it is along a narrow road without a pavement. The nearest super market is about a 10 minute walk away along the same road There is a well stocked bar but it’s more expensive than other bars. The nearest bars and tavernas are in Pothia The apartment was very basically furnished with only a couple of drawers. There is a kitchenette but nothing worked and no pots, pans etc. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment and the extractor fan had been partially disconnected and didn’t work. Towels were provided but they were tatty and smelt of mothballs. We had a nice terrace overlooking the pool area with a drying rack and seating Buffet breakfast was simple but adequate with coffee and tea on tap Would I visit Kalymnos again? Yes Would I stay at these apartments again? No

2 star accomodation, 5 star pool and hospitality in this family run premises . Central but quiet location close to port and wide choice of bars and restaurants on the front and down the narrow streets by and past the town hall, well worth a try. NO franchise McDonald's, Costa, KFC etc, GREAT !
