Avani is nicely located and accessible from the airport and the southern areas of Bentota, Galle and Matara. Situated at the sea front, it offers a lovely view of tall palm trees gently swaying in the breeze creating a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are clean and pleasant and the hotel’s spacious corridors, lounge and dining areas are tastefully decorated. Its best asset is its staff, always pleasant, welcoming and helpful, Eric ( I don’t remember his designation, but remember him well) approached us more than once asking about our well being, and assured us of any help we might need. Chanaka, the chef, went out of his way to serve us a specially prepared meal after we expressed our disappointment of being served an indifferent Chinese stir fry instead of a Sri Lankan dish the previous day. The dhal curry, and the three delicately but differently flavoured vegetable curries we were given will always be a meal to remember, easily the best Sri Lankan meal in our two week long stay in the country. This kind of warmth and personal care is what makes a hotel . Thank you, Avani.

The international five-star standard, the waiters are each warm and polite, the English standard, the traditional dance and singing are welcome and welcome guests, very pleasant surprise! The rooms are nice, reasonably designed, big enough, and comfortable. The hotel is one hour away from Colombo and the traffic is convenient. There are many entertainment activities, you can play billiards, play giant chess, table football, these are free of charge, and water sports and archery should be charged, not experienced. He was also sung by foreigners and sang karaoke, only English songs. The hotel itself is beautiful and large, like a large park with the sea on one side and the lake on the other. The garden view room we booked was upgraded to pool view. This is very bad and very noisy! Did not sleep well for two days! In the morning, the crows are meeting! In the afternoon, there are all kinds of chair pulling sounds, and in the evening it is even more terrible. Crows of crows gather by the pool and take a bath in the pool! If you want to live, it is best to book a sea view room! There is also a swimming pool over there. The sea water is very good, but it is also very wavy. In the evening, go for a stroll to the beach to see the sunset is beautiful. This is a hotel that should return.

Initial experience wasn’t great at check-in, as the staff wasn’t giving accurate information about dinner prices, and wasn’t very friendly. There were also a few issues in the room. But the front desk was able to coordinate with their internal house keeping and engineering team to solve the problems. We were happy with their services in the end.

Unfortunately underwhelming... We booked a room with 2 double beds (alternatively 2 single bed) for a higher price because that's what we wanted - when we checked in, we were given a room with 1 double bed. Unfortunately the bed couldn't be spitted and no other room was available (which we highly doubted, as we were one of the early one's checking in that day). We received a very soft co-sleeper bed... The first night, we went to bed quite early as we were exhausted from the day. Suddenly, there was banging on the door - up to 10 times - before I was awake enough to open the door to 2 service guys from the hotel, giving me some cut fruits and 4 pralines - at 10:30pm!? I was totally confused by the time and behaviour... Also the personnel wasn't of great help when asked regarding directions, post office, or else... We just didn't like the experience we had in this hotel.

My fifth visit to Turyaa & first ever after Covid19. Warmth & friendly staff, made the arrival & check in easy. Cleanliness in the room, attention of the housekeeping was remarkable. Pool was clean & upto 5star standards. Variety, Quality & taste of foods, desserts & drinks was simply awesome. Happy hpurs, 7 to 9pm was just surprisingly wonderful with unlimited liquor, soft drinks & cock tails. Shams solo music & marvellous voice just took guests breath away.... The weekend was splendid & superb. Hats off to Turyaa GM, Manoj & entire team. Navodhya, Ruwanthi & all others thank you so much for taking time to make our stay just wonderful.

I have to mention this, your hotel is one of the most beautiful place and beautiful with the people. Starting from bellboy Namal, he is so helpful and while we going in to the room he explained us almost everything about hotel . Next is bar and restaurant staff , they are always smiling and good service. I think on my visit hotel was almost full, but restaurants people didn’t miss anything what we were asking . I had 2 years baby and they gave us extra care even . Room service guy was amazing . Kavisha was attending to us even when we call at night time . Thank you for all people who take care of us . Definitely we will come back .

Hotel is modern , fresh , well maintained . Perfect for a relaxing vacation with gym , excellent long pool , yoga , sports area . Access to the beach is private and peaceful. Food spread was lavish Nd tasty . Staff is very friendly Nd goes out of the way to help you . We enjoyed the wide spread of food for new years gala dinner . Bar has good choice of liquor. You can take a tuktuk from hotel lobby roam around to see local life . Go to kalatura rich look store or others for cheap but good quality daily wear clothes . Beach is little rough . Spending 5 nights with hotel was relaxing then we moved to bentota to enjoy the beach which is smooth Nd one of the best I have come across travelling world around . Special thank to Tusharri to ensure we had the best stay Nd the personal touch she provided and Mr Prasad Wijesyriya for maintaining the hotel so well . You can always see them around with a smile and ensuring all guests are happy checking on them . Key feature is the long swimming pool . We are staying at Taj bentota now but we found citrus much better with pool , rooms and pricing for quality .
