LURES HOTEL

Suite with jacuzzi very spacious. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Views are wonderful; turquoise sea looking out to snake and mouse islands. Lovely beach club. Ladders down into the water were fine. Do watch out that the rungs under the water will be slippy! Breakfast buffet extensive. Whole honey comb. Omelettes to order. High standard of food. The hotel itself has many steps from the beach club up to the rooms. Good for fitness.. but they have a golf buggy which you can request any time to get to any level. We didn’t try the pools, which although looked lovely, were not heated and the sea was so inviting. Also be aware that the approach roads to the hotel are steep, maybe more than 1 in 4 in places, so put your seat belt on. The taxi drivers are used to the approach so after the first or second ‘hair raising’ trip you become blazee too and it’s rather thrilling. A word of caution - always ask for and keep your receipts. Best to pay as you go. We did find that some guests appear to have guessed at their room numbers and we had a drinks bill that was not ours (as we always pay each time and never charge to the room). All was sorted most amicably, but not what you want at check-out.

We absolutely loved our time at the Lures Hotel. We normally do a villa holiday in a kalkan but decided to give a hotel a go and are so glad we did. Great service, incredible rooms, fantastic breakfasts and a stunning location. To anyone reading negative comments about the staff not speaking the best of English, get over it and remember we are in their country and they are learning and doing their best and we certainly appreciated that. Would definitely return.

I have just completed an 11 night stay at Lures and it has been perfect. I stayed this time last year as well with my husband and this time we also brought my parents. The hotel is truly beautiful. The rooms are huge and immaculate with stunning sea views. We arrived at 10am and were instantly allowed access to one of the rooms which was perfect after an overnight flight. We loved our stay last year but this year it seems the hotel has really gone up a level and worked out some of its initial opening niggles - these never really bothered us really but it shows they have obviously really reacted to feedback and made improvements. The breakfast buffet was a great addition, massive choice and the most delicious fresh fruit, pastries and made to order omelettes! We used the boat or bus shuttle service most evenings and the beach club is completely different to last year with a whole new bar and pool. There are some reviews about staff not speaking English which we noticed last year as well but this is not the case now at all, everyone we spoke to spoke pretty much perfect English or could find someone quickly who did and everyone was extremely polite and more than happy to help. I booked direct and the manager replied to my emails pretty much instantly every time. We used the gym daily which is small but has enough to get a work out in (1 treadmill, elliptical, smith machine, a couple of cable machines and dumbbells). I think the addition of another piece of cardio equipment here like a bike or rowing machine would really finish it off! We also swam in the sea every morning. We actually found the snorkelling at the hotel some of the best in Kalkan and saw turtles and dolphins twice + many fish including lion fish. Overall we had a truly fabulous stay and will most definitely be returning in the future.
