Best place we’ve stayed in New Zealand!!! Very clean, nice view, amazing amenities and friendly host.
The best thing is they have a clean and good hot tub (nice view as well). We wake up with a super nice mountain view and the breakfast is amazing. The host is very nice and let us know about the activities we can do around Kaikoura!!
Everything is exactly like the description and images they post👍👍👍

Amazing tranquil place with amazing amenities, close enough to town but far enough to feel relaxed. Breakfast was amazing and the home made sourdough was to die for. Lots of things to do for kids aswell. Great set up! We will be back x

It is a small B&B with three or four guest rooms. It takes just over five minutes to drive to the main street of Kaikoura. The surrounding environment is beautiful and quiet, with a large backyard. The facilities are complete and the stay is quite comfortable. The hostess is also very hospitable and considerate. It's a pity that I only stayed for one night. I would like to stay for a few more days next time. If you come to Kaikoura, I recommend staying at this hotel.

Very Good

Friendly and welcoming hosts who can provide you with any insights into local activities etc. The room was very clean and functional but also comes with access to a large communal lounge and well equipped kitchen with well stocked condiment selection. As it was winter and a little quiet, we were able to use the lounge fairly exclusively. There are two hot tubs, one private and one communal. The private is covered so useable in all weathers. Just need to take turns with other guests. Our evenings were overcast so sadly no stars to see, but relaxing nonetheless. Breakfast is continental style with a good variety of choice ( fresh bread made by Jan, cereals, good options of jams etc) Short drive into the town centre but a little far to walk and not advisable at night (as no lighting). Easy parking.

Absolutely stunning place. Jen has got this cracked. Everything was spot on and nothing to criticise at all. A friendly and helpful welcome, incredible views (Room5), spotlessly clean and well equipped. The shared facilities were very useful. The breakfast provided was varied and delicious. And to top it all, 2 wonderful hot tubs to indulge in.

Gracious hosts who know Kaikōura well, restful private and beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, great lounge and living area, fun with pétanque and even the hot tub despite the gale, a thoroughly spot on venue for our brothers’ retreat. Thanks Jen

This place was amazing. It felt like staying at a home, which really you sort of are. The grounds were beautiful - I only regret that we didn't get a chance to stargaze in the hot tubs. It isn't walkable to the CBD, would be the only downside, but it's a short lovely drive, so if you have transportation - consider it. Breakfast spread was AMAZING. There is a shared laundry unit for all the guests, but we had no problem washing a load. The owner will go all out to make sure your stay is comfortable. Highly recommend.

I am so happy we chose to spend 2 nights at Te Mahuru Retreat in Kaikoura. Check in was so easy...we found our names on the white board as soon as we walked in and the key was ready and waiting. The room was clean and comfortable. We had access to a communal kitchen where we could either make a meal or heat up snacks. I loved having a common area where mingling with the other guests was encouraged and morning breakfast was provided. We made some new friends who shared their adventures with us. Jen, we LOVED your homemade bread. In the evening we strolled through the lovely garden and enjoyed a quiet glass of wine overlooking the mountains. Jen also provided lots of insights as to what to do in the area. The Mount Fyffe forest walk just minutes from Te Mahuru is not to be missed. She may even tell you the best place to view the seals (we were not disappointed). The casual, friendly atmosphere of Te Mahuru was such a welcome change from impersonal hotels. Only a 10 minute drive from the shops and restaurants in town, the location made it easy for us to enjoy the activities in Kaikoura. If we come back to New Zealand, we will definitely spend some time again in this peaceful retreat. I highly recommend you find the time to meet Jen and relax at Te Mahuru Retreat.

Only had one night here recently but wish we could have stayed longer. Excellent and easy check in, well organised and fantastic host in Jen. Met us on arrival, explained everything thoroughly and made some excellent recommendations for things to do and see in Kaikoura. Unit was extremely clean and comfortable and had little 'treats' that you don't normally find in similar accommodation places. Breakfast in the morning was excellent including Jens homemade bread. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, highly recommended and I thought excellent value for money. Would love to revisit for longer next time.

Wonderful B&B. Sat on the patio and soaked in the sweet smell of peonies and felt like I had a secret beautiful garden all to myself. Breakfast was wonderful, with a good selection and the most divine honey straight from the hive. Jen is a great host, very knowledgeable about whole area and you can ask her anything.

Ngā mihinui mo to koutou manaakitanga. A beautiful restful spot with a welcoming and calming ahua. Loved the artwork and all the native touches, and the views are amazing. Cleanliness was superb and the bed was comfortable with no roll together. Would definitely recommend the hot tub either first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Beautiful experience and we'll be back.

A attractive driveway and home entry through lined covered ways. A welcoming host who goes above and beyond to make our stay comfortable . No request is too small. Continental breakfast in the purpose built dining room with other happy travellers. A comfortable living room with a great selection of books and games.
