I always book Express Hotels for daily travel, and InterContinental Hotels are more reliable. Holiday Inn Express is a simple style, which I like very much. Simple, clean. It was nice that there was no cigarette smell in the room. It is about 30 minutes away from the city center by car, but I stayed here because I had to go to the Songseong-ro train station early the next morning. I asked the front desk and they upgraded me to a quiet and clean room on a higher floor. No breakfast service.

I would rate this hotel as average. Disappointed that no one at the registration desk spoke English. Room had a lovely view (12th floor) but wallpaper was torn and patched with large stickers. I had to ask for our room to be tidied (dump trash, fresh towels, more water bottles). Ladies at the breakfast buffet where very nice and welcoming -- knew basic English. The location is decent -- close to many restaurants, snack street/night market. Easy to get Didi or Taxi. Probably would not stay there again.
