"The location of the apartment is excellent, located opposite the Kagoshima Station on the island line (non-JR Kagoshima Central Station), the Sakurajima Port Pier and the Ocean Zoo are close at hand, and the Sakurajima volcano can be seen very clearly. Transportation is not too convenient. The room is large in size, and the decoration is uniquely Japanese-style exquisite, quite simple and clean. Air conditioning, refrigerator, washing machine, kitchen utensils are complete. Three adults and two babies stayed for four days and three nights. It is very convenient and comfortable. It is highly recommended. Fortunately, the night before leaving, I was fortunate to see the Orchid Festival Fire and Fire Conference held in Sakurajima Port. The locals were dressed in costume and came to the city. It was quite lively and atmosphere."

"A business-style hotel so suited for short stays. Rooms comfortable but compact, especially for a couple. Shower room ok, but bedroom felt cramped. Location ok, midway between the station and port with a 30 minute each way. Several restaurants, shopping malls etc around."

"It was a wonderful stay. The hotel management was excellent, and the room was in great condition. I want to give a special mention to Miss Gotanda 五反田, who guided me after check-in. Her detailed explanations and warm smile set a positive tone even before I checked in. The hotel's hot spring overlooks Sakurajima volcano, enjoy hot spring while watching the sunrise was a truly delightful experience. I will definitely come back again next time."
"Room was a decent size, fully equipped with washing machine, kitchen utensils, fridge, microwave. Very clean.
Unfortunately I did not receive the email with the entry code for the main entrance. That resulted in my waiting outside in the cold for almost an hour before getting the code through Trip.com customer service, before I could enter the building and into my room.
Also, Staytus only has a phone number to call for emergencies - it would be helpful to have at least an email alternative also, since foreigners may not have a mobile phone that can make calls in Japan. "
"The location is on the quiet side of the road, and it is easy to confuse with Hall 2 not far away. We went to Hall 2 and were told that the reservation was Hall 1. Simply not too far away. Chain hotel management, affordable. Good health, including free breakfast."
"The boss is like an artist, and the Japanese speaks quickly ~ In Trip.com, you have to use VISA cards, but you don't deduct money directly in the account, and you have to pay cash on site. The location of the homestay is on the bank of the Sapporo Island Volcano. The homestay has a rooftop. You can go up to enjoy the cool and watch the sunset and watch the volcano. It is still very romantic."
"Take a long-distance bus to Kagoshima for one night, the next day to take the ferry, the bus is late, the hotel has been 23:45, the night shift management is still from the lounge to check in intimately, the room space is relatively large, the facilities are complete, clean and tidy, cost-effective, praise"
"The service level is not up to standard. Although it is a self-service B&B apartment, the procedures such as informing the booking guests one week in advance to pay attention to the email address to receive the login password and other procedures should be in place. However, the management failed to fulfill its obligation to inform in advance. It only sent out an email related to the entrance password one day before check-in. However, the guest was already traveling in Japan and it was difficult to receive the email. As a result, he found that he could not enter the door when he checked in. I only saw the email after rummaging through it. The check-in experience was very poor. The assistance and response from Ctrip customers are timely and efficient. What must be criticized is the apartment management’s practices and concepts!"

Amazing
OOrez TsangThis is my first leisure trip in 2025. That's a vey good experience trip with my wife.
A modern and comfortable lobby lounge area provided a nice coffee area for a easy breakfast before my day trip. On the final day, i enjoyed the full buffet breakfast and staffs were really helpful with that gave people nice day beginning.
Onsen provided me an refreshments daily and made me energetic, also relaxed me as happy ending.
I forgot the female staff who received my fruit on 14Jan night. She and her colleague assist us to prepare the fruit which purchased outside. It was my nice dessert that night.
Another memorable gentleman on 13Jan overnight, i was handling some business during overnight in sudden. Therefore, i went down lobby to complete it. He approached me for assistance and offering me help for wifi service.
For the design of lobby, this is very great to locate the front desk towards the main entrance and the most front line to welcome guest. The FO team need to perform the most professional and consistently services. Especially the cold weather, they keep a good image to maintain professional.
The shuttle bus driver was nice to take care us every evening back to hotel.
For the room reservation, we selected the room with beautiful view Sakurajima and i could enjoy my drip coffee myself to see the sun raise.
I will highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
TTan Soon HockSo surprise the entrance of hotel is inside the station. This is even nearer than JR hotel at Oita. So convenient!! Their breakfast is good too but a bit expensive at 1980 yen which is same at Oita. With lots of eating places around and of course the ferry wheel not to be missed. Got the CUTE pass at tourist centre to take bus to City Aquarium / port for ferry to Sakurashima to view volcano. Spent around 4h from hotel and back to port for the trip only as we didn’t stop at all bus stations in the Sakurashima. Glad to try the longest leg bath there. Watched few mins of free dolphin show at the canal of the port too. Took tram back to hotel to rest. Then went for ferry wheel and took bus to tenmonkan to visit donki. Back to kagoshimachuo for dinner at 7pm and rested for the day. Really very super convenient place / city. By the way only 2 washer and 2 dryer in the hotel North Wing, so if you need to do laundry do plan else long queue.
NNafangxianStepping inside, the impeccable cleanliness was immediately evident; not a speck of dust could be found in any corner, and the sparkling windows created a bright, almost ethereal atmosphere. The staff were consistently friendly and smiling, handling every single detail with meticulous care. Their attentive service was so seamless and discreet, they seemed to anticipate every need without ever being intrusive. The undeniable highlight, however, was the hot spring bath. Amidst the swirling steam, it felt like being transported to a poetic haven, where the silky hot spring waters simply melted away all worries and stress. This elegant and serene environment truly makes it a perfect sanctuary for a relaxing stay.
CChung WenkuThe hotel lobby is very beautiful and comes with a parking lot (payment at the counter). There is a tram in front, so transportation is convenient. The counter staff is friendly and there are umbrellas to borrow when it rains when you go out.
GGuest UserHotel can be accessed directly from the JR underpass, towards basement of hotel building. Tram station conveniently located in front of hotel. Hotel faces JR Station. Room is cozy with plenty of wall sockets. Good value for money. Room had lovely view of Mt Sakurajima.
GGuest UserDefinitely recommend. The hotel is over 100 years old and the facilities are old, but! ! The hotel's dedication can be felt in every place.
It is recommended to add breakfast when booking a room, which is great value for money and very filling and healthy. It was not time to check in yet, so I left my luggage there first. When I came back to get the room card, the luggage was already in the room. If you live alone, the space is enough. I will come back if I have the chance. Thank you for the hospitality!
GGuest UserAn excellent hotel! I highly recommend this room type; it's incredibly spacious, comes with a kitchen and full set of utensils, and offers a fantastic volcano view. Truly impressive. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kagoshima! The hotel also has private sauna rooms available for a fee. You can easily book them by scanning a QR code in your room. The cost is 7,000 JPY for two people on weekdays and 9,000 JPY on weekends. I hope to have the chance to experience them during my next stay.
RRomanLet’s start with good things. There is little kitchen you can use. There is free tea. There are two showers and one toilet room near the former entrance. Washing machine is free. The place is opened 24 hours. Wifi is fine. The mat and pillow are comfy. English-friendly.
Now, some bad things. It seems that the place knew much better days. Now, as many others, it became a home for those who work, not travel. It means it is still noisy after 22:00 in the dorm room. Guys can turn on the lights and leave them on. Locker doors slamming, etc. A few tenants did not care about clearing shower after them, same with the toilet slippers that are mandatory but tenants use the ordinary ones. If you are sensitive for this, consider choosing another place or at least a private room.
AAnonymous UserThe counter staff are friendly. The location is ideal, close to Kagoshima Chuo Station, very convenient. The sanitary environment is ideal and very satisfactory. Basic facilities are available.
