It is already the best hotel in the area, but the hotel is very old. The lobby looks okay, but there is a very strong musty smell in the room. My wedding took place at the tree of life very recently and the services and the meals we received were beyond expectations. As a hotel with a long history, I recommend the Tree of Life Nature Resort to any couple, family or even solo travelers. The surroundings are all relaxing and calm and you will experience a glimpse of nature throughout the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the meals were amazing. Kudos to the chef and the restaurant team. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they give priority to the customer's desires. Both main and baby swimming pools are well maintained and you can go for a swim during the day. Tree of life is a great hotel for all sorts of events including parties, family gatherings, day outs or simply for your vacation.

The beds were super, super comfortable and we had the largest room on the top floor with amazing city/hill views from 2 windows. The rooms sizes seem reasonable. The staff were all very lovely and helpful and the location is close to the lake (10 minutes walk). The bathroom was large and the water was hot. Breakfast was nice but expensive and Wi-Fi was excellent. Sadly, The decor of the room was in poor condition and needs redecorating. Wallpaper is peeling and walls are marked. The window blinds were all broken. The pool and surrounding area did not look inviting at all. The pool looks dirty. Such a shame. If they could fix the decor and pool we would have given this 5/5.

getting to the hotel is a small chore, but you are rewarded with a decent view. The hotel, isn't really a hotel. So i found it a little hard to find. Because it's a house that's been converted. The rooms are a decent size, well decorated and offer great views of Kandy. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It feels very chilled when sit out on your own private terrace. I'm not entirely sure that the hotel is worth it's high price though. hmmm, well given the price of the room. you only get one towel, what's that about! But the thing that stung and led me to leave a low mark was the food. You're kind of a captive audience and the hotel know it, given it's location up in the hills. The hotel offered a set dinner menu for LKR6000 ($20) per person. The usual price of a decent sized dinner is about LKR2000 per person. So how was dinner you ask.. well, and when I tell you, I'm not joking in the slightest when i tell you what I was served. so the d'oeuvres - A slice of white bread cut into the shape of a heart, on top of this romantically shaped bread. Three mini Ritz crackers (seriously) with cream cheese on top. Then a small salad in a cocktail glass which was ok. followed by Heinz tomato soup. followed by some oven made, veggie burgers, with some creamy veg, which was clearly from a packet. I was actually laughing when they were serving me these dishes, making it out to be something really posh. So please hotel, bear in mind that you would have got a much higher score if you hadn't charged me and the other guests that were staying there $20 for something that was clearly worth $2. Ritz crackers! haha are you seriously joking with that.

The shortcomings of the room are that it is indeed relatively old, some towels are a bit dark, and I feel that the hygiene of the bathroom toilet is not good! I had a buffet dinner at the hotel, the price was more than 3,000 rupees, there were many types, and the taste was good! However, the buffet dinner did not include alcohol. , you need to give some tips after the meal (after all, this is a tipping country). In addition, this hotel feels cheaper on Ctrip than on other platforms!

The room was clean and comfortable. Sitting in the lobby and around the swimming pool is very comfortable, you can be in a daze all day long! The surrounding environment is very good. There is a lake next to the hotel and a small hill opposite. Wake up in the morning and listen to the birds singing, by the way, there are many crows here😄

.The hotel is beautiful..located just around a 10 minute walk along the lake from Temple of the Tooth basically out of the hotel and turn right and keep walking and you cannot miss it! The staff we think went completely above and beyond for us on our stay.. We got scammed down at the market and when we told the Manager /Owner he was clearly upset that this had happened to us in Kandy. He helped us out by ringing the police etc. Also the restaurant man Neval also was lovely and friendly and even came to see if we were OK when he saw us on his way home in town! All staff are fantastic and a credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is just gorgeous.. Very well decorated. Our room was very luxurious. A massive bed looking out to the lake which was the most comfortable bed we have slept in whilst we have been here. The views from our huge verandah attached are spectacular also. We had a delicious breakfast also..fresh fruit.. Fresh juice.. Toast..omelette.. Cakes and jams and fresh tea. Gorgeous. If we are ever in Kandy again we will definitely be back! Thank you to all staff for helping us and making our stay so much more memorable.
