We went to this Maui resort to celebrate my wife's birthday and Mother's Day. Housekeeping didn't come everyday and my wife left a pearl bracelet on the nightstand. We left the room for an hour and it so happened that housekeeping had been there. My wife immediately went to the nightstand and it was gone. The housekeeper was next door when we went into our room but when my wife made a commotion and we came out to ask the housekeeper she and the cart were gone. We spoke to security and I tried speaking with the hotel manager everyday but never even got a call back and she supposedly was never in her office. On top of it all we had to go to a timeshare sales presentation and they tried to sell us a $50K package! We will NEVER stay at this resort again.

This place has gone downhill since 2016. Room is highly dated. Concierge only available in main lobby and not at rest of the desks all over the complex. Room not properly cleaned when we arrived had to have them redo some items. Towels are mostly dirty some with lipstick stains on them when you get new ones. Cleaning of room is supposed to be daily but when you call and ask about it they always say we are not on cleaning schedule. The next day we are on the schedule for every day, and then again not on the schedule. For over $600 per night this is not worth the money, Taxes alone are over $100 plus the resort fee. Restaurant staff is friendly, but menus at only two places open are the exact same and highly overpriced. Food is actually boring after the first day. They lack most top shelf liquor at the bars. The restaurant/bar was closed for 2 days without any notice to guests other than a small handwritten note on the restaurant entry. The grocery stores are almost triple priced compared to anywhere else on the island. One store is supposed to be larger in the south building yet its about the same as the north side store with same things for sale at the high prices. They have palapas which fill up fast each day, The cabanas both at the pool and the beach are priced in a totally absurd way. Even 4 seasons prices are lower than these cabanas which are nothing but small areas with a couch vs. pool chairs. If you happen to have your stuff on the pool chairs, they will remove after an hour t if you decide to hang out in the water and not your chair. Pools are not the cleanest since they don't do a good job of cleaning them during the day. To get pool and beach towels you have to have a card from the front desk. Attendants really don't seem to like their job when handing out towels or collecting them. Wait they don't collect them; they tell you to throw them in the bins yourself while giving your card back first. Parking is $25 per day plus tax. Used to be free. I guess they want to make more money somehow. Overall, not a good place to visit compared to years ago.

We are owners at the Westin North. This was our first trip since Marriott took over. The concierge tried pressuring us to an owner’s update, which we never do. Was rude about it when we refused. The rest of staff was great. The rooms have suffered. Not sure what my $4000 in fees is paying for but the silverware was mismatched if not missing entirely. There were stains on the carpets and everything just looked old. People walking around smoking (and not just cigarettes) despite the no smoking signs and plenty of unsupervised kids in the adult only areas. I don’t mind the number of kids at all but they need to be supervised and swimming in the pool, not the jacuzzi. This property has suffered under Marriott rule. Thankfully the staff was pleasant and accommodating when we needed things or had questions.

The biggest joke of a resort. The employees really don’t want you there. It is smelly and not cozy at all. Super loud with children screaming and crying. Save your money ………… I’d recommend staying at a mom and pop bed and breakfast and don’t waste your money on this hotel that literally stole water from Lahaina.

Best bed EVER! Our view was amazing! Park right next door, amazing spot to watch the sunsets every night. We would set out our Beach blanket every night about an hour before sunset listen to some tunes and have a drink. S*** you can’t make up. ❤️❤️

Wonderful as always. I am baffled by the bad reviews. Yes, your room may not be ready until 4pm, so just relax by the pool. We always have our suits ready to change into. Check out is at 10am, however, you can use the lounge room that has showers. We always pack a bag for our last day to do this. Not a big deal! Staff is friendly and helpful. They are still short staffed due ti the fire, so be patient. Yes, only a few restaurants are open, but you have a kitchen and grill. We walked every morning to the grocery store for our food. Grounds were clean and the beach fabulous whale watching and snorkeling. We will be back next month!!

We had a fantastic stay at the Westin Kaanapali North Villas. We so much appreciated the great service we received from everyone especially Alice-Lyn Malapira, Westin Front Desk Supervisor. Everyone on the resort staff was very helpful and positive. Mahalo for a great vacation.

I’ve checked out and am left with very mixed feelings about this hotel. As I write this I keep feeling worse. The good: The concierge team was exceptional. Every question was answered honestly. We even needed a last minute cancellation on an excursion and they got it taken care of for us. Really great work from them. The room was nice enough. Nothing luxurious but it was clean with a good size bathroom and kitchenette. It was quiet and we had a nice view from our garden suite. It was cleaned often enough too. The pool and fire pit were well maintained and made for a great nightly visit. The Starbucks/gift shop was nicely stocked. Not ABC quality, but better than a gas station. The bad: there is only one dining option at the hotel, and even that was only available two of the days we stayed. The restaurant/bar at the pool (only option) is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. That means the only choice for food is to leave the resort. This was disappointing to learn once we sat at the pool and were ready to relax. The only way to eat is to go to the next tower, order food, and bring it back to your own chair. Honestly, a delivery option would have been a nice solution if they were struggling to staff. The fine dining (or mid-dining?) option was closed the entire stay for “renovations.” Sadly, that restaurant was in a great location with a view that would have made for a nice dinner option. The ugly: There is no option for a late checkout, and the checkout is at 10:00am. I’m not an avid traveler, but I can’t think of a single hotel I’ve stayed at in my lifetime where the checkout wasn’t 10:30 or 11:00. Anyway, it’s their “policy” and they make no exceptions. I was told (by the manager) that it’s an “ownership hotel” which I guess means something for checkouts? That wasn’t explained. We were told that we could use the lounge while we wait for our 4:00 flight. The lounge is similar to a waiting room at the doctor’s office, far removed from the this hotel. The open air lobby is a more pleasant option, but I guess they want their bored guests out-of-sight at that point. By the end of my stay I will have spent nearly $3,000 for five nights at this resort (parking on top of the resort fee, which is always the case) and the manager was unable to find a way for us to stay in our room until noon. This is a dealbreaker for me and I won’t be returning to any Westin property for any future travel. A nice stay was ruined because of a “policy” that defies logic. Did I mention that check-IN is 4:00? The room will sit vacant until then - and a pair of guests will be sitting around, waiting for their flight. Really a bad way to finish a nice trip.
