Read all other reviews, do not book here! Don’t know where to start….no lift, disgusting corridors, room was like stepping back to a 70s crack house, dirty carpets, soggy beds, bird pooh on the balcony, mold in bathroom, mold on ceiling, broken tiles in shower, loudest air con ever so could not use! Ants, yes ants crawling all over bathroom and units, we told reception and they weren’t interested as we weren’t stopping at their other nicer hotel onsite! The response you get from the hotel of “our rooms are priced accordingly” is insulting! We paid $1200+ for 4 nights and to rub salt in the wound we were charged $40 per night to park….joke! Can’t believe ********** actually sell hotels like this, do they not read reviews?

Old and run down, furniture in the room is beat up and in poor condition, no elevator. There are coffee stains and newspaper transfer on the nightstand. They charge 35/day to park. To PARK. Do you know how ridiculous that is!?

DO NOT stay here. The building is super run down and dirty. Our carpet was so dirty it made our feet dirty. There were cockroaches in the room - one crawled out of our coffee maker. The beds were not comfortable at all, and the towels were thin and old looking. We were shocked at what a bad experience this was given how much we paid. We are not fussy people but this place was just dirty, gross and run down. We left early and went somewhere else. We didn't even talk to management; it's clear by the amount of bad reviews that things are not being addressed. And the noise from the nightly luau was distracting to say the least. Do yourself a favor - stay somewhere else.

The Ocean Inn is old and run down. We were very upset with our accommodations for the price we paid !! We complained to the young man at the front desk, Kainoa, at the Royal Kahaina. He was very polite and he put us in a much nicer room

Run, do not walk, quickly away from this property. We are a couple in our mid 50s and travel A LOT.. this is the WORST place we have ever had to stay a night. Ever. The "Inn" is so gross. I thought we were on a reality show and it was a joke at first. The room smelt like urine, mold, and smoke. The walls had mud (I hope it was mud) and other smears of yuck all over. I am not joking that we slept in our shoes. We were in a bind so had to stay here for one night. We checked in at 9pm and was out of there as soon as the sun came up. When we checked out and discussed how amazingly awful this room was with the front desk, we were told basically, "yes, we know... The Inn sits so close to the ocean it can't be torn down to rebuild that close again, so they keep "renovating" it." I felt badly for the staff. This Inn needs to be condemned. DO NOT STAY HERE. I still wonder what we might have picked up from this room. RUN... RUN....

Haven't seen such a dirty and overpriced (total $500/night) hotel in decades. Room on third floor with no elevator (I am handicapped). Carpets in hallway were first sign of disgust, and the dirt and stained rug carried into the room. My wife and I saw small bugs on the bathroom floor. We were careful NOT TO PLACE ANY OF OUR BELONGINGS on the floor for fear they would get "dirty". TV would not work. Had to call front desk which game me convoluted instructions to get it to work ("go to channel four, then to another channel") Desk was chipped and drawer would not open. Switch plate in wet bar was loose and plugs would not stay in. A moist towel was placed over the AC thermostat for some reason, we never figured out why even after asking desk staff at checkout. Two chairs on the small balcony felt like they were going to break when we sat down. Doors do not close properly, walls are thin so you hear your neighbors -- we decided we would get out asap the next day. We can say the staff on property is great. Royal Lahaina is a heritage resort -- but they should cut this broken down relic loose. it drags down their reputation. When we spoke to the front desk the next day we got no answers except knowing nods of the head as if "We've heard this before." A desk supervisor said she would reverse our resort fees -- it never happened. Save your money -- there is better value elsewhere. This review will surely be followed up with another "we had no idea" response from Royal Lahaina.

Don't stay here. It is outdated and has bugs. This place is a joke. Amongst all the other fees they charge, when you get there, they have a required $100/night hold on your credit card which is not listed on their website. Other properties have a per stay hold, not nightly and it is not as steep. When questioned about it, they confirmed although it is not on their website, it is a requirement for all guests and their front desk service staff is rude. This information should be listed on their website so those that are budgeting can have this calculated in their budget.

*Disgusting stained carpet *smelly old curtains *moldy bathroom *no outlets *peeling paint on walls *We selected KOI for our 1st & last night of a 9 night trip. (With 7 nights at Westin timeshare in the middle) WHAT A MISTAKE!! KOI falls beneath being “a basic accommodation”. This place is nasty with disgustingly dirty old smelly carpet full of gross stains. The walls are also stained, the bathroom is old & moldy. There aren’t any outlets in the room (except 1 behind the bed & one in the bathroom). We honestly thought it’s such a short stay “ it can’t be that bad” but believe me it’s more than bad, it’s downright AWFUL. We asked to move to Royal Lahaina Tower for the last night & it was not possible. The woman at the front desk said KOI is the oldest property on Kaanapali beach & hasn’t been updated in 30 years, lol….We ended up canceling & booking our last night elsewhere.

Filthy, dirty, carpets worn, hidden charges and then after booking with Alaska airline, the tried to get us to pay another $160 to pay for the room we booked in the first place. Bed was broken (box spring) room next to luau so all we heard was music and the entire luau.
