Beware of a bait and switch. The hotel website, even 24 hours before booking an airport shuttle transfer advertises a 24 hour in advance reservation for airport pickup. They seemed to have all of a sudden changed their policy even though I made the room reservation 3 months in advance. They refused to reimburse me for the taxi fare I incurred getting to the hotel. I do not recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Driftwood Lodge during the Rock Aak’w Music Festival in September. It gives super vintage vibes but for the location and price it can’t be beat. My room was super clean and the check-in/out was a breeze. The bed was comfortable and it was rocking all night 😉. The parking is easy, and the Wi-Fi is strong. I really enjoyed walking across the street to the Centennial Hall and being able to get a good breakfast at the Sandpiper Café which is on premises. The lodge is walking distance to all the cool downtown hangout spots. This is Juneau, so don’t go here expecting the Ritz Carlton, think more “vintage boutique”. I look forward to staying here again for the next big event!

The beds were very comfortable, the staff was professional and very helpful. My room was a basic room, and it was very clean and all my needs were met. I caught the 7am shuttle from airport. I notice in previous comments others had issues, but I found the schedule on their website, no reservation required. Worked fine for me. There is onsite breakfast and lunch which was wonderful, as well as a perfect coffee house just a few short steps away called Sacred Grounds and it was fabulous. Will stay again , loved it !

We booked two different stays at the Driftwood and canceled the second one when we arrived for the first. The hotel made a big deal about how they pick you up from the Airport and took all the information about my flights and that I would have a shuttle to the Ferry... We got an email the day before we were to arrive to say they no longer had any shuttles except ones that were on a first come first serve basis like twice a day to only the airport. Really messed us up... Our confirmation clearly lists all the details about the shuttles they had agreed to provide. This is why I picked the hotel. The room was dirty, smelled of mold and just all around very well run down. Good points are you can walk from there into town and they had laundry which we used. Only one washing machine was working but luckily we were the only ones who wanted to use it. Would not recommend.

A very run down facility with rooms very dated. Air conditioner and phone did not work. Laminate peeling off and the bed was very uncomfortable. Very disappointing especially with the price we paid.

For the price this is remarkably shabby -- both the property and the staff costumer service. We stayed for three nights at an expense of $782, the first two in a one bed room with a stained and grungy shower and a carpet that should be replaced. On our third night we stayed in a two bedroom suite as our duaghter had arrived to attend a wedding with us. The staff made zero effort to help us make a timely transfer between rooms -- though the check out time is 11 and check-in at 3 (4 hours!), they were not ammenable to prioritizing turning our new room over so that our daughter could shower and change for the wedding that also started at 3. They acted as if an early check-in was the kind of request only the most entitled of Karens woud make and did not have the room ready until after 2, at which point we had all our luggage in the car and were on the way to the venue where we changed into our dress clothes in the parking lot. When we got back to the hotel at 9:30pm there was a note on the door saying "closed, back in around an hour." Luckily we'd just caught the guy, along with two other customers that needed assistance, before he left the front desk unattended for an hour on a busy Friday night. The window next to the entry door of the room was stuck open -- the handle to colse it was *****ped and the mechanism frozen. For some people this lack of securty would be unsettling. In the morning a neighbor upwind was burning trash, so I woke to the smoke in our room.

I was staying at the Dtiftwood for my job and they screwed up my reservation. I complained every month and finally they did not honor my orginal reservation. I explained everything and was told I was a liar!!! I have stayed at this establish faithfully and never complained about the many things that was not as advertised, but this is it. I will never stay there again and will let all of my friends and family know to avoid it at all cost. Sounds like the new ownership will disrespect multiple faithful customers, but we will put pur money in establishments that respect us.

It's a great location. One can access downtown and the trails without having to rent a car. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. I have stayed at the other more expensive hotel and can honestly say I enjoyed it here much more.

This establishment is sadly the most unreasonable I have ever encountered. Whilst I understand cancellation policies, I was physically unable to visit because the ferry from Bellingham to Juneau was completely CANCELLED. I could not even get to the town. However, this hotel insisted on charging the full rate, despite the fact that I simply could not be there. I even discovered that they blocked out weeks of unavailability either side of and including the night I was supposed to stay. I wonder how many other people's money they took whilst having no intention of actually providing a service. Do not book this accommodation. It is a real shame that the owners/managers have chosen to be so unreasonable; I flew directly to my intended destination of Fairbanks instead, and every Alaskan I have encountered is warm and friendly. This hotel would not even take my calls. I do understand cancellation policies. But when the traveller has had their plans completely changed due to transport no longer operating, especially to a remote location such as Juneau, one would expect a certain level of understanding and decency.
