Last week, my wife and I made an extended road trip through Mississippi to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. One of our stops was in Natchez. Our next-door neighbors back in Tennessee, when they found out where we were going, said that we should consider staying in one of the Antebellum Homes that were operated as a Bed and Breakfast. Just before getting into Natchez, we checked out a couple of Natchez's B&Bs. Oak Hill Inn was rated highly in its reviews. We called the Inn, and luckily, they had a room available. When we got there, Don (one of the owners) had two Mint Julips and a snack waiting for us. We checked in to the Master Suite for one night, but after settling in our room and walking around in the garden, we asked if we could spend two nights instead. No problem, they said. We visited a lot of interesting places during our trip, but nothing we did could compare to the hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and pleasant accommodations we experienced at Oak Hill Inn. If we had known our experience at Oak Hill Inn and our time spent in Natchez was going to be as pleasant as it turned out to be, we would have spent a week there instead of two days. Thank you so much, Don and Doug, for taking such good care of us. We will definitely be back again.

Arrived in darkness, and the parking was somewhat difficult because of indiscriminate parking by others. The main building was beautifully lit with festive lights and we were greeted by the hosts Bill & Magda. Our room was in a nearby annex, which wasn’t a problem, but definitely a no no for anyone with mobility issues. This is not a B& B as advertised on some sites, but I was aware when booking. The room was clean and adequate for our needs but I feel that there should be some sort of room service ie change of towels, trash disposal & replenishment of coffee for the room machine, sadly it was lacking on this occasion. Notes are pinned on the front door of the main building advising arriving quests of procedures when the hosts are away. There was obviously an administrative glitch when others guests arrived on the 2nd night of our stay and had been directed to our room. Our door was not locked at the time , no harm done, no embarrassing scenario 😂The WiFi was very hit & miss from the annex although not too bad from the common shared area at the main building. All in all a pleasant hillside location and close to the town. Wouldn’t want to pay any more on a room only basis.

This establishment was beyond disappointing. The room was filthy, there were hairs everywhere, the room had cobwebs and dust in every corner, there is black mold growing in the shower and the customer service is terrible. We called to speak with Laura to request a refund for our second night as the living conditions of the room were not at all sanitary. She proceeded to take our call, tell me that she is “sorry we feel that way” and then when I asked if there would be any reimbursement for the second night as we checked out by 10 am after arriving at 7:30 pm the night before, she stated that she didn’t feel it was necessary and hung up on my phone call. DO NOT BOOK HERE! It is truly not worth your money.

Our stay was utterly terrible. It was evident that they did not clean up after the previous guests. The conditions were so gross that we had to check out early. When we called the owner, she was incredibly rude and dismissive of everything we said. She didn’t seem to care about the state of the place. We even offered to send her photos and videos of the dirty areas, but she hung up on us. She refused to help us resolve the issue and wouldn’t make it right, even after we had to check out after our first night because of her lack of preparation for guests. The state of the room now makes sense after speaking with such a poor manager.

So, we’ve actually been staying here for almost 20 years! Great location just a short walk to the town’s Main Street, tidy, and the owners are very kind and thoughtful. We look forward to staying here all year. Since this inn is family-owned and run and is also their home, we always try to be extra conscious and they always take amazing care of us. This place is a Julian treasure.

This is a quaint little place. They only have three rooms. We arrived and found the note they promised on the front door. Our room had the key in the door. It was a nice little room downstairs by the pool. Setting was nice and it was quite even though you could see the highway. Julian rolls up the sidewalks right after 5:00. This was right before Octoberfest and the town wasn't that busy. We liked the place until that night when we tried to sleep, The bed was terrible. You felt like you were always rolling toward the middle of the bed. During the night the wind picked up and we kept hearing a knocking outside all night long. Come to find out there was a door propped open close to the outside of our room and it kept hitting a potted plant. Good thing my wife had earplugs. Too bad i didn't. Check out was just like check in, we left the key in the door. We never saw or heard from our host/hostess the entire time we were there. The place is nice and as i said quant but we need our sleep. They are a five minute walk from town. Wouldn't stay here again unless the bed was replaced and we knew it was.

I recently stayed at Oak Hill Inn in Natchez, MS. The Inn is resplendent from the furnishings, deep front porch to the hospitality of the owners. Enjoyed mint juleps on the back veranda overlooking the fountain which provided a peaceful backdrop and had a scrumptous breakfast that is simply unequaled. I am a visceral person so the Inn gave me a Faulkner-like sense of time gone-by. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and look forward to other trips back to Oak Hill. I highly recommend Oak Hill Inn for a true adventure in Natchez.

If you are looking for a B&B experience where you visit with the owners and other guests over breakfast, don't come here. The room was OK, although we did not get the room I had requested and reserved (not sure why that happened), but breakfast was not in a common area, it was two muffins on the countertop in the bedroom, along with small containers of juice in a mini fridge and supplies to make our own coffee. Yes, it qualifies as "breakfast" of a sort, but not the kind I expect from a B&B. My husband's comment was "we would get a much better breakfast at a Super 8 than we did here." Also, be aware that this inn is right next to the main highway, with all three rooms facing the highway, and there's a lot of traffic noise. The owner seemed nice, for the 2 minutes that we interacted with him, and the room was comfortable (although with the above-mentioned traffic noise).
