Château de Beaulieu et Magnolia Spa the Originals Relais

Lovely old house shabby chic. Massive bedroom with a lovely view. Clean and friendly professional service. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Only negative is the location if you do not have a car. Use Uber ( not the hotel driver/ too costly) to get into Tours. Also not so keen on dogs in the dining room but that sees to happen everywhere.

We were given a musty smelling room with walls in disrepair and a window that opened onto the road and the driveway, 20 minutes from a food shop with no facilities for a hot drink nor any offer of where to get one.

What a beautiful place to stay, great location, serene with amazing food. The staff were outstanding, they were very helpful and it was a pleasure to meet Estelle.

The Chateau is a beautiful old building thats looking a little tire around the edges, but none the less an excellent place to stay. It is situated just South of Tours, but easy to get to by car, an excellent stopover for travellers going North - South through France. The grounds are extensive and lead down to a pretty little river, a great place to stay if you have your pet with you. The grounds and the main building are wonderful, as is the drinks terrace and the dining terrace, a must if you are staying for the evening meal. There are two menus options, three or four courses for 47 euros or 57 euros. The food is excellent, French fine dining, except that the main course was served just about warm enough and on cold plates, this needs attention. We throughly enjoyed our stay, a small luxury experience after a hard days driving from the South. The bedrooms in the Pavilion are fairly standard/basic but do have wi-fi, shower and bath plus air con. As travellers, we could do with some tea and coffee making provisions to start the day off with, as the formal breakfast does not always suit those who need to get back on the road early the next day. As mentioned before, the main course food was not hot enough. The tatty torn cushion on the drinks terrace needs to be sorted out.

We really enjoyed our three-night stay at the Chateau Beaulieu. We were in the "Chambre Chateau", which overlooks the formal garden from the second floor. The Chambre Chateau was a very pleasant room, with charming view, and very quiet. Very good bed, and a good night's sleep. We also really liked our dinner at the Chateau. (We ate dinner there only once; reservations recommended, and we tried to look suitably well dressed.) We thought the food was delicious, and enjoyed the old-world, professional service and elegant atmosphere. Very good breakfast. Charming hosts, who really care about the guests' hotel and dining experiences.
