Had a fantastic stay at the Cortsland Hotel. I stayed there for two nights at the beginning and end of my holiday for easy transfers to the airport. The first room I stayed in had a patio with seating. Rooms have ironing board and iron. Kettle with teas, coffee etc. The room was a fantastic size and bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was superb. The second room I stayed in had a kitchen that was accessed through glass sliding doors. Washing up liquid supplied. Extensive range of crockery and utensils. This room was massive. The hotel is immaculate. Pool is large with seating and comfortable loungers. I had this area to myself during my stay. All hotel staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. On arrival I was too late for dinner. Emily ordered me a pizza and drove me to collect this. I only ate breakfast here. It was a buffet breakfast and had fruit, orange juice, cereals, teas and coffee on offer. The hot choices included scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and herb potatoes. There is a bar near the hotel offering food and drinks that can be accessed from the back gate of the hotel. The gardens are well maintained and extensive. I also ran out of cigarettes during my final stay. Hazel, the hotel owner, personally drove me to the supermarket to buy these. Shout out to Donny and Kella who made me feel welcome. I stayed here myself and felt incredibly safe. The bar was not open but drinks could be ordered at the reception. I would highly recommend this hotel. Customer service was second to none.

SBC is a lovely little boutique hotel! Simple accommodations so not quite a 4-star hotel. I'm admittedly picky about hotels. Rooms are clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast is included. Food is a little pricey but really good. The beaches are well maintained where you can order drinks and food from your chair or cabana. The staff at SBC make the stay. Helena, Stacy-Ann, Que, Janelle, Marlon, and Delroy are always smiling and provide a warm welcome. There is a floating tiki bar close by and recommend you head out on the water where Dave, the bartender, provides a tasty rum punch and fun music! If you don't want to stay at an all inclusive, SBC is a great place with several restaurants in walking distance.

The hotel has an independent beach, a large swimming pool, disinfection and sanitation, hand washing and disinfection at the door, and contactless check-in. Everything is done online. The hotel breakfast is toast, bacon, yogurt, eggs, and coffee. There are no vegetables and the air conditioner is a little loud. The bathroom is exhausted, and there will be mosquitoes, bed pillows are comfortable, the room has alcohol handrub for disinfecting hands, toothbrushes and slippers are not provided, there is water and coffee supply in the lobby, there is no kettle in the room, and you can sleep by listening to the sound of the waves at night. I could not speak more highly of this wonderful hotel. We have just returned from spending 9 fantastic nights here, staying in the Victory room/suite. Thank you to all who work here for making our stay so special. Our first impressions were incredibly positive. We were greeted with ice cold glasses of fruit punch on arrival. The building itself is impressive with a beautiful courtyard in the centre and the view out over the harbour is magnificent. We were so impressed with the size of our room (or should I say rooms)! A huge living room with comfortable sofa, widescreen tv and dining table plus lots of storage space, a kitchenette with sink, fridge and basic kitchen equipment (a kettle for tea and a coffee maker with some basic supplies eg teabags was provided), a bathroom with a very good shower and then a large bedroom upstairs in the attic space. The bedroom had an AC unit and a ceiling fan so was always beautifully cool. The bed was kingsize and extremely comfortable. The rooms were beautifully clean and fresh towels arrived every day without fail. We were also lucky enough to have a brilliant view out across the harbour. There were so many details that we loved about staying at Copper and Lumber - the breakfasts were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful view from the outdoor dining area which looks directly onto the harbour. The little birds that visit the breakfast tables were absolutely charming. We had the continental breakfast (tea, coffee, toast, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, freshly baked banana bread… it was fantastic). We also loved the friendly atmosphere and the staff were so lovely. To the waitress who kindly brought us extra banana bread when I told her how much I liked it - thank you! The historical feel to the place was just wonderful - all of the rooms are named after famous ships and naval figures, many with a connection to Nelson (Victory, Boreas, Hardy) and there are fascinating old pictures hanging throughout the hotel. The rooms have a very traditional feel and we felt as though we had stepped back in time. The location of the hotel is also incredibly convenient - lots of restaurants within easy walking distance, and a supermarket just 5 mins up the road. There is a small museum in Nelson’s Dockyard and a wonderful little bakery selling bread and cakes, as well as several gift shops and a couple of cafes. The bar at Copper and Lumber is lovely with old timey decor like a traditional English pub and does great food (I believe they have just reopened for serving evening meals). Some days we got the water taxi over to Galleon beach which is a stunning beach with great snorkelling - the water taxi leaves from a spot just next to the hotel and costs 5USD each way. Pigeon Point beach is also lovely and just a 20 minute walk from Copper and Lumber. We also really enjoyed exploring the coastal footpaths and seeing the ruins at Fort Berkeley. Hodges Bay is absolutely beautiful! The resort is very unique and well designed. Every room feels unique and special! We stayed ocean front and garden view! Both were fantastic! The staff makes you feel like family. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Jeff and Sarah and they are the kindest warmest people you could meet. The trip over to the prickly pear was an absolute highlight! We spent most days there. Captain Sean was great! Chef Wes, Veveen, and Ashanti were super kind and attentive! The main bar by the pool was our evening destination! Marvelous, Delvin, Anastasia and Kayenne were friendly and fun! I’ve told numerous people about our trip already! Sorry if missed anyone! Can’t wait to return!!!
