Courtyard by Marriott Johnson City

Dead animals in pool filter. Picture this, you and your family come to stay at this beautiful hotel and are impressed with how nice it is. Let’s go swimming fam, but there is a weird smell but it just rained so… your small child says I can see a tail and something fuzzy… you peer in but cannot see or maybe don’t want to see. A call to the front and a nice attendant comes to help. As you explain the situation it sinks in that with all the splashing and swimming this water has been in your mouths and up your noses. The attendant removes the filter cover and there are two dead ducks in one filter and one in the other. They are in the process of rotting.

I have stayed here many times in the past about two weeks a year for the past four years. Tonight I went to get a snack from the front desk and there was no one present. I waited approximately five minutes during that time another customer came and waited along with me. We decided to step behind the desk and knock on the wall to see if anyone was home. The employee that was working in the Desk came out and scolded me for stepping behind the counter. I explained we’ve been waiting for approximately five minutes, and he said I am not allowed to step behind the counter. Myself and the other customer left our items on the counter and walked away. It was very disappointing and unprofessional. His name is Anthony and at no point did he try to fix the situation. I was amazed at his lack of professionalism. I also went to the bistro the night prior and the night of and saw no one there. I wanted to order food but didn’t see anyone to take my order.

Young man working reception did his job. We were on a road trip and arrived late evening. Walking in I handed him my cards, he handed me back my room key and said, thanks. No the elevator is —, the bar is open until—, nothing. My first room was dirty. We were moved across the hall. Try to stay in an odd number room. They face away from the road and have a view. 2nd floor had bad noise from above and I don’t think they were doing anything but walking. Overall, you’ll be fine.

This stay wasn't as good as the last time I stayed here. The check in was easy and pleasant. After putting my bags in my room, I went to the Bistro to eat only to find out the meal service was stopping early. The individual said he had to work in the morning. So, I went next door to eat. When I returned, the Bistro was still open. I don't know if he was making food or just serving drinks. Since I didn't know how long he was planning on serving drinks, I went to a grocery store down the street for some snacks and drinks. I did enjoy the very quiet courtyard outside. The fire was a great touch, even though it was in the 80s. I didn't stay for breakfast. This Courtyard is in the process of remodeling. I don't think the interior colors inside is as nice as it was before, but you can tell the work being done is being done by some great workers. Besides the few box trailers in back, there was no other signs of the work that is being done in the building. Great Job on the construction team. Overall, this is still one of the best Courtyards you can stay at. Johnson City is a very nice city to visit.

My wife and I were visiting Johnson City to spend a Mother's Day weekend with our family in nearby Elizabethton. Everything about your hotel was first class. First we were greeted with smile by a very courteous Front Desk attendant. Next we entered our room on the 3rd floor to a gorgeous view highlighted by the rolling green hills just outside our window. The room was appointed nicely and arranged for comfort. We had an occasion to visit the cafe to enjoy pastries and the Starbucks coffee. Service was great. I would highly recommend your hotel for anyone traveling for business or pleasure.
