Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur

Jodhpur|2.18km from जमा मस्जिद مسجد
'One of the biggest palace in India. Rated as one of the top of hotels in India. Luxury at its best' With all this in mind, was visiting the hotel with lots of expectations and happy to say that Umaid Bhawan met all of them and much more. One of the best and unique welcome to the palace with live singers singing Rajasthani songs and welcoming the guests. As soon as we entered the palace it felt a different world. The palace interiors are amazing. Such intricate designs, carvings on the pillars, paintings...list goes on and on... Stayed there for 2nights in last week of August. Hotel is located very close to the airport and has good connectivity with other parts of the city. Most rooms in the hotel are suite rooms. Rooms are clean and no noise around means one can have a sound sleep. Attached museum to the palace hotel is worth a watch. Peacock feeding is a unique experience at this palace. Being Ganesh chaturthi chef had sent some specially made sweets which were too good. Food at the restaurant Risala was mouth watering. Mr Jabbar at the restaurant has made me experience the best hospitality of my life at any hotel. Restaurant ***ager Mr N Singh was also very warm. Mr Meherdin and Mr Bhom Singh from security were helpful in peacock feeding. Mr Swaroop from buttler service gave me an excellent experience with the turban and sword from Jodhpur The unique standpoint for this hotel is the warmth and hospitality of the staff which i have experienced before only at Taj Falaknuma. Despite the staff being slightly old, their service quality is top notch. Mocktail making activity was great. All in all, an amazing stay and worth visiting for its grandness and excellent hospitality

Jee Ri Haveli

This is the second time I have enjoyed staying at Jee Ri Haveli. Hi***shu and his family were lovely hosts. The Haveli is outside of the old town but the views of the fort from the rooms and rooftop restaurant are spectacular. You are within easy walking distance of everything including the excellent Sardar Market. The rooms are comfortable but not ***y luxuries but this doesn't matter as the beds are comfortable and hot water in the shower!! The food in the restaurant is excellent as well accompanied by the aforementioned view - see photo . They can arrange cars etc for arrival and departure if needed. Hi***shu took us on a wonderful walk through the old town - the blue city- and took us to visit the Jaswant Thada mausoleum and the superb Mehrangarh Fort. We really enjoyed this as he took us to places we never would have discovered on our own , we saw some wonderful murals and we ate the most delicious local sweets and found out the next day we made the local paper! Highly recommended and I would very happily stay here again.

Very relaxing place run smoothly by brothers Akshay and Nikhil. Lovely rooms and they are very good at advice and travel arrangements too. The hotel has a nice calm atmosphere. You feel you are part of the locality - I had a beautiful blouse made in 24 hours by a local masterji. In the evening, thrilling Rajasthani music on the beautiful terrace. Good menu with Rajasthani specialities - possibly some dishes could be lighter and less full of masala but that is just a foodie point. I highly recommend.

Haveli inn pal is not Pal Haveli. Keep that in mind. But they are in same haveli. Different parts. Room no.7 is one you are looking for. Great views of mighty fort. Bit overpriced. Best if you get around 4K. Main thing is location. All famous eateries are near. Allowed us early check in without any hesitation. Friendly staff, at least most of them. So overall decent stay. I reviewed good on Agoda but this bad experience came after our stay ended. On last day we asked for taxi from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. They said 6K as it is season rate. They said one way is not available. We agreed thinking taxi has to take round trip. Next day they asked us to pay all money to us in advance in cash before leaving. And then while travelling we came to know it was a one way car. Car already came from Jaisalmer, it was on its way back from Jodhpur. So charge is half for such trips. So hotel could have been honest and take less money. But they wanted their commission. This is no good. Left bad impression and this type of things destroys trust of tourists coming from far places to visit these great cities of dignified kings. So you can go ahead for stay but do not book anything external like taxi or sightseeing with them.

the ancient temple (300 years old) was very interesting. the food was decent; we ate breakfast two days. the call to prayer at the crack of dawn is EXTREMELY LOUD right outside the hotel so beware of that. However, a STRONG caution: one of the front desk staff tried to take us out of the hotel to scam us. we wanted to go to the stepwell nearby and this boy insisted on taking us there. I didn’t know why at the time, I thought maybe he wanted to go too. We found out that he was trying to take us to a textiles shop for a commission. This is a common scam in India — drivers or guides will take you to “their friend’s” shop “just to look, no pressure to buy” but you should know that this is ILLEGAL in India, as they make a commission on anything you buy. When we tried to go into a different shop on the way (for our own interest) he tried to prevent us from entering the shop (because he would not receive a commission from this shop) and he further bullied the shop owner to “make it short, woman” so that we would not linger there long. The tourism police showed up and that’s when we realized what was going on. He paid off the policeman while we were in the shop and then waited for us to come out, and again tried to lead us into his friend’s shop. We shook him off and continued onto the stepwell on our own. Yes this is a beautiful hotel on account of the temple it is connected to, but the hotel staff are actively trying to take guests to scam them. So, I would not recommend this hotel overall based on that experience.
