I had a really good experience at this hotel. For some reason, they decided to give me the best room, which they called the Madonna room because she stayed in it. It was an amazing room with a balcony area overlooking the castle grounds that was only shared with one other room. The restaurant was very helpful making vegan food for me, which was delicious. They had great entertainment at night. They have a nice gift shop on site, and it was nice walking through the tiny village outside of the castle. They also have a nice pool. I wish I had more than one night there. Highly Recommended.

this place is really one of the most stunning stays we have ever been to. comfy beds, large rooms, a great ourdoor area with countless corners to rest or to enjoy chai. the staff is outrageous, the ***ager Narinn made everything possible or beyond - whatever we wanted. bathroom is also big and there is a huge swimming pool. wifi is good, air conditioning in our room also. we liked the typical indian food as well as french fries or ice cream and fruits etc. we celebrated divali and rangoli in the garden, all in all a perfect place for our trip around the north of india - we can highly recommend it!

Staying here is a totally different exeprience than in a typical hotel. Built as a haveli for a Maharajah, it had fallen into disrepair, but in 1992 it was converted into a heritage hotel, and it is still owned by a Maharajah, staying here is a step back into history. The rooms are tastefully decorated, with modern facilities, but retaining the sense of a bygone time. Stairs to the upper floors are stone, and there are no handrails, so maybe not ideal for those with reduced mobility, There are no lifts. There is a railway station nearby, and all the trains approaching or leaving sound horns, which are loud, and affected the sleep of some of our party, so I would recommend earplugs. There is an indoor restaurant, and an outdoor one, Food was good, a reasonable choice of tasty Indian dishes, and alcoholic drinks are available. The hotel is set in attractive grounds, with cane furnishing, and waiters will bring drinks to you. In the evenings there was local music. The hotel also has a pool, which some of us took advantage of. The hotel is situated off the beaten track, even our driver had difficulty in finding it, there is a small village, and when we were preparing to leave we were surrounded by the local children, all hoping to be given some money, but all smiling and good humoured. Jeeps can be arranged from here to take you into the countryside and visit a local farm and see the life of the locals. I enjoyed my two night stay here, and would definitely recommend.

Fort Chanwa was absolutely beautiful with excellent food and service. The grounds were kept in pristine condition. I will return to enjoy more time. I’m the evening there was live music while dinner and drinks were served under the stars.

The place was selected because it was a heritage property. The place was just fantastic. The aesthetics were tremendous. Hospitality was excellent. The staff were polite, soft-spoken, courteous and very helpful. Very adaptable to our requests. They ensured that our stay was comfortable. A good change from a usual hotel stay. A must for all those who plan to see a heritage hotel. An experience by itself

This is most definately the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Do not ever stay here. We arrived and no one greeted us, no one smiled. Checkin was hopeless. The entrance area had dirty plates and drinks and food everywhere. As we were taken to our room all the way were dirty plates, drinks, bottles, laundry. The staff are sullen and miserable. The pool area is disgusting. Do not be deceived by the videos and photos on the website. This is a beautiful building but that is it. The owner needs to spend a considerable about of money making it any where near ok to stay, money on decent staff who can clean and smile. Seriously there are not enough words to describe the v v v poor standard of this place. They will use the excuse of wedding season but even taking that into consideration (however we were customers too who had paid to stay) there were plates etc left for hours snd hours and staff sitting around doing nothing. The place had no gin and no tonic . No bar There was one redeeming factor; a lovely waiter (name unknown) My advice: go no where near here.
