Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Xishuangbanna

Not impressed. 2 star quality in a 5 star hotel. Constant tour groups and noise. Smoking and people spitting on the ground in all public places including the gym. Rubbish everywhere. People were literally allowing their kids to urinate and deficate right beside the pool regardless of a toilet being 10 seconds walk away. Facility is supposed to open at 8 but nobody arrives to open until 9.30. No towels and rubbish at pool. Wifes jewelry went missing from room. Response was "what would you like us to do about it?" Rubbish lay at the door for several days. Room not cleaned properly and coffee, soap etc not replaced. Hotel staff will avoid you if you're a foreigner, regardless if you are using a translator which just feels rude. Particularly rude for staff to answer the phone and just say "laowai" and hang up without following anything up. We have worked for hotels before. Got the feeling no quality control from ramada exists here and the place is allowed to go to bits. I would ask for a refund or to make up missing jewelry but staff seemed so incompetent and uncaring I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Breakfast was basic and not western. Good if you like chicken feet. Id happily pay and extra few 1000 to stay in a better hotel or pay less for probabky better service at a smaller local hotel.
