MMDJ30The hotel is located perfectly. It is in the center and on top of a shopping mall with many dining options.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good and offered different dishes daily.
Overall very satisfied, I would recommend this hotel to other travelers visiting Jiayuguan.

GGuest UserThe experience from check-in to check-out was super great! The girls at the front desk were very nice (the recommended Xiaohua and Dapangzi, Huguo, Xingpi tea, and beef noodles were all delicious, and the hotel location was good, not far from these places). They also upgraded our room (thank you again). The guest rooms were very clean, and the corners of the bathroom were very clean. Whether it was the room staff or the front desk, they would greet the guests and respond to the guests' needs. It was great👍... The shampoo, shower and hand soap in the room all smelled very good, and the most favorite thing was that the pillows were so comfortable (I want to know what brand it is)
I almost forgot to mention the breakfast. The restaurant was clean and sanitary, and the dishes were rich!
I forgot to take pictures of the guest rooms in a hurry, but I will choose Starway Hotel in the future

GGuest UserThe place where I stayed was very close to the Liguancheng scenic area, and it was just a short walk away. On the left is the first pier, and on the right is the hanging wall of the Great Wall. A taxi fare is about 10 to 20 yuan either way. The bathroom has a toilet and a squat toilet. It costs five yuan to do laundry. The four-person room has a wooden bed without a curtain, while the six-person room has framed bunk beds with a curtain. Mop the floor every day. The water for bathing is too small.

GGuest UserThis time we booked a suite with one king bed and two twin beds. This is a B&B that was renovated from a self-built house. The owner is very enthusiastic. The next day we slept until we woke up naturally before going to the Guancheng Scenic Area. Turn right after exiting the inn. , you can reach the Guancheng Great Wall Museum after a 10-minute stroll, and then continue 100 meters further to reach the entrance of the scenic spot. There is no need to go to the visitor center again to take the sightseeing bus (but the sightseeing bus is free). The room decoration is pretty good, but the bathroom is a bit hard to describe...
A few comments and suggestions:
The first is that there is no hand soap/soap in the bathroom; the second is that the toiletries are placed in the box on the wall, which is not very clean, and the toothbrushes, shampoo, and body soap are still the ones used in small hotels many years ago. , like B&Bs cannot have the same configuration standards as branded hotels, can you choose a brand that is easy to use, with large bottles for home use? The quality of the people is still quite high. There should be no customers taking bottles home with them anymore, right? 😅; The third is that the air conditioner in the twin room is like a tractor and is very loud. On the contrary, the electric heater in the other room is surprisingly easy to use, but if it is summer, how will that room be cooled? The fourth is that the door of the room is very thin. , but there was no sound insulation problem the night we checked in; fifthly, the hair dryer in the room, uh uh uh uh. Small details like this to improve customer happiness do not cost a lot of money, so it is recommended that the boss be willing to invest in them.
The key point is worthy of praise - this room comes with breakfast, and the breakfast tastes great. Cold vegetables, steamed buns, cakes, white eggs, millet porridge, corn, sweet potatoes, and sweet ginseng fruit... everything is available
In short, the breakfast is 100 points and the service is 100 points. The only shortcoming is that the facilities need to be improved and the bathroom hygiene needs to be improved.

BBarryFor a start, it is now called the Herdsman Lodge. It is up one flight of steps from the street, no lift. Someone has obviously spent a fair amount of time and attention on the look of the place, but there are some things which would make staying here a better experience. The beds in the capsule are really hard (worse than on a Chinese train) and squeal every time you move. The capsules themselves look nice, but some of the plastic is a bit flimsy. They did supply toilet paper, but if you don't like squat toilets, you're out of luck. The shower cubicles are tiny, I don't know how to shower without getting my clothes wet. There is a drinks fridge, but no drinks are in it, and no water is supplied or available. The water boiler in the kitchen runs out at some stage in the evening.
Big tip: turn left out the door, go to the intersection, turn left and cross the road - the #4 bus goes to the Great Wall Scenic area, where you can see the fort, but not the wall.
