Xieshan Jingshe Boutique Guesthouse

Very clean and picturesque neighbourhood. Great dinner and free serving of various type of homemade wines. I enjoy the reading and study room, staff and owner are extremely friendly and helpful. They guided me to look for better options to take minibus in front of guest house straight to Mt Fangjin west gate the next morning.

This hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The attention to detail and the warm service made it feel extremely special and comfortable. The garden and the rooms are super beautiful with so much attention to detail. It felt like a sacred, holy place with its temple, library and tea room as well as the garden. The staff was very friendly and helped us out a lot with planning our trip. The drive us to the Fanjing Mountain and also organized a driver to pick us up in Tongren when we came and a driver to drive us to Fenghuang the day we left. Also they had amazing foods and although we are vegetarians and don’t eat meat they had plenty of options. We were lucky to meet a master (teacher) of Buddhism and his student (a tea master who was learning about Buddhism from him). They also made this trip very special since we got invited to traditional tea ceremonies and were able to listen to the singing of prayers and traditional Chinese instruments they played for us. This hotel is the perfect place for these sort of guests and it’s perfect if you want a relaxing meditative Chinese experience. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful as well and perfect for going on a walk to explore a little. We hope we will be able to come again in the future.

The Xieshan Jingshe Guesthouse is a bit difficult to find and reach if you don't have your own car, but once you can find transportation to get you there, you would have discovered a hidden gem. From the entrance through to the beautiful garden with tradional Chinese landscaping to the classically decorated guest rooms and the museum-like common rooms, everything at the guesthouse was absolutely stunning! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were delicious Chinese noodle soup, with fruit, a small cake, and tea. We were very happy we had booked an extra day there, to do nothing but enjoy the garden and our room!
