The location of this hotel is literally on the doorstep of the pedestrian zone yet it is still accessible by car. The public car park is also right next door to the hotel. The hotel is decorated in traditional style and is very quiet at night. I liked that the hotel provided electric blankets for the cold nights. The breakfast is delicious and enough to keep you going for most of the day. Helpful staff and a relaxing place to enjoy Shaxi.

The inn is very beautiful, it is a 100 year old house, at the center of the town so it is very convenient to go visit all places. The owner is also very helpful, he helped pick up/deliver our luggages to the street where we got dropped off/departed. He also helped us to reserve seats for shared car to the next destination and answered any questions that we have (via translation apps or wechat). Everyone in the inn is friendly, highly recommended for staying in Shaxi.

They very enthusiastically helped us carry our luggage into the B&B room and informed us of the location of the nearby parking lot. Knock on the blackboard, this is a pet-friendly B&B. Friends who travel with cats and dogs must experience this B&B. Because a friend from Guangzhou brought a little black Shiba Inu, they chose to drive all the way to Yunnan with the dog instead of taking a plane.
During the day we walked around Shaxi Ancient Town and had some fun, and in the evening we went back to the B&B to continue some fun. Knocking on the blackboard again, Shaxi Three Dogs B&B has a public kitchen open to guests. The room is very warm and comfortable. You can see the beautiful courtyard scenery through the window. There is a wetland park outside the door. It is very close to Yujin Bridge and the ancient theater, and it only takes a few minutes' walk to get there. I forgot to bring noise-proofing earplugs when I came here, but I didn't expect that the room was equipped with earplugs, which was a lifesaver for someone like me who has a very light sleep. They also thoughtfully prepared sanitary napkins. I have stayed in many hotels and B&Bs, and this is one of the few that provides sanitary napkins. The owner will also give you a cup of hot milk in the evening. There is also a very cute cat (popcorn chicken) and a bichon frise (cookie) in the store. I stay in the B&B every day and don't go anywhere else, and I feel so happy. The only regret is that this trip was a bit rushed. It's a very cozy courtyard, with good coffee and a nice view. You can order a cup and sit in the courtyard in a daze for most of the day. In winter, the room has floor heating, which makes it very comfortable. Because the room has a wooden structure, the soundproofing is slightly poor. Shaxi Ancient Town is a relatively simple village with no large chain hotels, and all of them are famous inns. We arrived in the afternoon and kept looking for a hotel on the way but couldn't find it. I booked this hotel randomly and I didn't expect to like it so much. The house was very clean! ! ! This is important! ! ! Has anyone seen a reflective bathroom floor in a hotel? The proprietress upgraded my room. This room is really nice. The bed and pillow are very comfortable. It can be seen that the boss is very attentive in every aspect. It is a new hotel, clean and tidy. In the evening, I brewed the Dianhong tea that the boss gave me. It was delicious.
Here is a small suggestion for everyone, don’t book a house located inside Shaxi Ancient Town, there is no parking space and cars can’t enter. The road is very difficult to walk on, it is all cobblestone. If you bring a suitcase with you, it will be difficult to walk and you will definitely bump into things.
This hotel is located outside the scenic area, just the right distance away, and not noisy at night. The price/performance ratio is very high.

It’s not within the old town itself but it’s only a 10 min walk from the old town entrance as well as the main bus stop, where you can catch buses to Dali and Lijiang. If you’re in Shaxi on Friday, it’s only a 5 min walk to the lively Friday market which is definitely worth a visit.
Do note that the short stretch into the hotel (10-15m) is dark at night. Not a problem if you’re travelling with someone but it may be a consideration for solo travellers.
There’s a lovely view of the mountains from this room. The room is spacious and clean. The old lady who runs the hotel only speaks Chinese (as do the owners of many guesthouses), but she’s really sweet and you can communicate with her through a translation app.

Location of the B&B: It is located on the edge of Shaxi Ancient Town. You can drive directly to the parking lot at the entrance of the courtyard and walk for five minutes to the ancient town. If you don’t want to drag your suitcase on the stone road in the ancient town, this is a very good choice.
B&B scenery: The house is a Bai building, with three squares and one screen wall. It is a B&B built and renovated by the owner. You can feel the strong ethnic characteristics when you stay here. There are small bridges and flowing water in the yard, and winding paths lead to secluded areas, offering a view at every step.
Room conditions: There is air conditioning and an electric blanket. It is not cold at all in winter. The bedding is soft and thick. The bathroom is clean and bright, and the toiletries are of good quality. Tea is also provided in the room. It is very comfortable to sit on the wooden lounge chair by the window, drink tea and watch the scenery.
