This is a very nice hotel, clean and a beautiful courtyard. Although the sanitary looks more luxerious on the pictures then in real life. It is a little bit old. We booked a standard room with 30 % discount and payed 18 euros or 140 yuan. Without the discount I think the standard room would be really overpriced. There were signs telling that you have to be quiet during night, which is quite nice because Chinese hotels can get very rumourous. The noise started at 08:00 in the morning, it was quiet around 23:00.

We had an incredible stay at this charming B&B homestay! The lady boss and her son went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They kindly carried our luggage upstairs and even upgraded us to a larger room. The son was absolutely adorable and took us on a delightful tour of the ancient town. Our room was immaculately clean, spacious, and had the comfiest beds. Shaxi has stolen our hearts, and this homestay was a big part of that. It's definitely our favorite town in China.

Easy and friendly check in, nice clean room and quiet (except the cow early in the morning but good to wake up !). The environment is good with possible view on the mountains, not in the touristy area but very close.

The owner is very helpful and friendly, and gave detailed explanations of the nearby attractions like shibaoshan. Also very patient explaining everything slowly to a foreigner :) I got a room on top floor (third level) as it was supposedly quieter but in reality, due to the courtyard style layout of the hotel, some inconsiderate guests can be talking at the tops of their voices till late at night. The location is a little outside the main old city area, hiking a short distance up a steep side path. I did not look carefully at the room description (it does not have air conditioning) although it does cool down at night. Leaving the window open, I did hear a cow mooing and the faint smell of cow dung wafting into the room.

New hotel, clean and hospitality Near aceien town

This place is in a great location just outside the Main Street - about a 5 minute walk. It was extremely clean, comfy and perfect for all our needs. The staff were really friendly and used to working with foreign travellers. If we came back to Shaxi, we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The room is very Shaxi style, with wooden doors, close to the ancient town, the boss and his wife are very warm, and they help with luggage pick-up and drop-off. I like the courtyard of this hotel, and I will stay here every time I come. It is comfortable

The environment is good and the location is good, but the public area is a bit small. There is not enough space for a large group of friends to sit and chat. The boss and his wife are very attentive and will help carry our luggage upstairs. When we check out, they will help carry it downstairs and introduce us. A delicious restaurant.

The B&B is very tidy and the owner is very enthusiastic and helps arrange parking and pick up luggage. When I encountered some trouble during this period, the boss was very proactive in helping me resolve it, which made me feel very warm. It is also very close to the center of the ancient town, just a few minutes' walk away. I will stay here again if I have the chance to come to Shaxi again.
