A very beautiful place. The hotel is located in a rural area. To get to Shaxi Old town , they gladly give you a ride and it is only 6 minutes.
The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and well set up, right down to the smallest detail. They even have Japanese washlet toilets
The service is unbelievable, they offered us hot milk before bedtime and tea time after we checked in.
We checked in late afternoon , and were not sure we wanted to go back to the ancient town for supper so they kindly cooked a simple meal for us. The simple meal consists of 3 dishes and a soup. All the vegetables were freshly picked from their garden. A wonderful supper thanks to the 2 ladies who work there.

We stayed several guest houses this trip, this one really impressed us a lot. The house is very nice decorated among the farm terrace, bed is quite comfortable my best sleep all these days. Most important, the owner and other staffs are really friendly and taking care of details. They drive us and pick us up from the ascient town. Before we back, turn on the fire oven and aircon, so when we r back we enjoyed a movie in the warm living room near the fire. Just feel like home.

We spent a night at Guilaitang, and it was a wonderful experience. During off-peak season, we were the only guests, and the owners graciously upgraded our room for free. The room was fantastic, though it was a bit chilly at night, we were still comfortable.
The hotel is located a bit farther from the main Shaxi ancient town, but the owners were incredibly accommodating, offering to drive us to and from the town whenever we needed. The surrounding area is mostly agricultural, which I’m sure looks even more picturesque during the right season. Even in winter, it was still quite beautiful.
Overall, it was an exceptionally pleasant stay. The room was clean, and the owners were incredibly hospitable. You can even pre-order dinner and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal right at the hotel, so you don’t have to venture into the ancient town for food. I’m so glad we chose this place—it offers a peaceful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle, and it's a place where you can truly unwind.
