Shaxi Ancient Shabie Garden

I spent quite some time choosing a place, and I'm so glad I picked this guesthouse. Its location is excellent, just about 100 meters from Xibao and very close to the ancient town. The hosts (grandpa and grandma) were incredibly kind and friendly. I originally planned to stay in Shaxi for only two days, but I loved the place so much that I ended up extending my stay by another two days. The guesthouse has a washing machine, which was very convenient for doing laundry. There are comfortable sofas right outside the rooms in the small courtyard, perfect for just sitting, daydreaming, and clearing your mind. The courtyard is filled with many succulents, all thriving beautifully. I absolutely loved this place and will definitely come back if I get the chance, and I'll recommend it to all my friends.

The elderly owner was polite and hospitable, and the location is not far from Yujin Bridge.

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the old town center, and the courtyard also has a lovely ambiance.

I spontaneously decided to stay a night in Shaxi and chose this guesthouse. The owner was incredibly kind. 👍 Knowing that the ancient town has cobblestone streets, and I was worried my luggage wheels would break and ruin the rest of my trip, I contacted the owner. Without hesitation, he came to pick me up in a tricycle, which was a special experience for me as a foreigner. 😃 The property is newly opened and boasts excellent, fully-equipped facilities. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of bed – literally! Consequently, I couldn't drag myself out of bed the next morning to see the morning mist at Yujin Bridge... The succulent plants in the courtyard were thriving, huge, and simply stunning – I was so jealous! The rooftop terrace offered panoramic views; it was beautiful. When checking out the next day, the elderly hostess even apologized for the late-night noise made by the young people staying upstairs. Honestly, I couldn't fully understand what she was saying, but I got the gist, hehe. I assured her it was no problem at all, as I hadn't been disturbed. The granny smiled sweetly; she was adorable. 😊 I really loved Shaxi; one day was simply too short. Next time, I'll definitely stay for a few more days, just to unwind and completely relax. I will certainly choose Gusha Bieyuan again. Highly recommended! 👍

This newly opened place is wonderful, and you can really feel the owner's dedication. They even have a dedicated kitchen for guests. A TV show has certainly put Shaxi on the map and brought more business, but it genuinely remains a fantastic spot, ideal for a slow-paced getaway.
