"My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at this exquisite spa, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by the warm and attentive staff, who went above and beyond to make our day special. The ambiance is serene and beautifully designed, creating an atmosphere of complete relaxation and luxury. We indulged in a couples massage that was heavenly, followed by some time in the private sauna and relaxation areas. Every detail was perfect – from the soothing music to the selection of essential oils personalized for us. The spa's amenities are impeccable, and the treatments are delivered by highly skilled therapists who make sure you leave feeling rejuvenated and cherished. This spa truly exceeded our expectations, making our anniversary celebration a memorable one. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil escape to celebrate a special occasion, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We can’t wait to return!"

I’m not sure where to start, Retreat was one of the best experiences I have had in quite some time. It was so relaxing. The food was so refreshing and fulfilling Jonathan made every meal time feel so personal. The Spa was fresh, and clean and the employees so welcoming and accommodating. I can’t say any more but just book. I promise you will not be disappointed.

The food was delicious and healthy; gourmet vegan (although a protein is always offered if desired). The staff went above and beyond to help make our stay wonderful! The room was tastefully appointed and extremely comfortable. The hotel and grounds are very well maintained, lush and beautiful. The only caveat is that they are expanding the hotel so the construction noise is quite unsettling during the day. This was disappointing given that this was meant to be a serene wellness escape! Apparently the construction will be finished by May 2025.

Wow. My second time at The Retreat and somehow even more magical this time around. The service and property are outstanding-Being here alone for 1 week I felt taken care of in every way. Staff is so friendly, accommodating, and always available to help or answer questions. Sergio has done an incredible job with the food offerings. My friends will typically call me a picky eater but at The Retreat I love everything I'm served & finish every plate! While being there I explored Ayurveda, starting with a consultation with Dr. Shaveta followed by daily Abhyanga sessions with Amal. In fact, I extended my trip by 3 days to get more! Amal is such a gifted healer and my treatments with him were truly life changing. I left with a better understanding of my body and tools I can use to find balance once returning home. Thank you to everyone who made my stay perfect!! I cannot wait to go back. Feels like home

It was my second stay at The Retreat and it is a spectacular place. Every detail is very well thought out, the landscape is wonderful with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the Gulf of Nicoya. The hotel truly reflects the dedication and philosophy of its founder, Diana Stobo and is a place for body and soul restoration. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, clean, and have spectacular views. It has cozy common areas where you always have access to a variety of teas and coffee. The personalized attention and customer service are excellent at every level. The treatments at the "Vida Mia" spa are amazing. Food was creative and delicious. A special mention to Bryant and Emerson for making this stay an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I spent a week at The Retreat in a luxury loft. It was life changing! We experienced healing from the meals to the spa treatments to the mountainous hikes. Executive Chef Sergio prepared Michelin restaurant level of meals and the wait staff such as Jose served it perfectly. I can keep eating some of my favorite foods because of the cooking lessons from the heavier set female chef. We especially enjoyed the Spa. I received Vida Abhyanga Equilibrium treatment from Amal Michael that was exceptional. His knowledge and expertise transformed my body from being stiff to pain free and limber. Shaveta’s “Self Love” workshop and praynyama classes gave me new insights into myself and breathing skills. Cynthia’s yoga classes were also extraordinary! I can go on and on about our experience but will stop for now. I highly recommend you go and see for yourself.

This was the best trip my partner and I have taken because of our overall experience (great facilities, great hospitality, yummy food and drink) and the beauty of The Retreat can’t be captured in words. In addition to the amazing eats and drinks, beauty of the setting and facilities, and hospitality of the staff, the thoughtfulness of the team really sets this place apart. Must experience for yourself.
