Why is 114 Imperial Drive called The Homestead? The house was built in the early 1970’s by George and Helen Parke who owned the original land that Hidden Valley was built on. They lived in this house year-round. The Loft was the former master bedroom, and the house was heated with the same Franklin Stove that is still in the dining room. The deck and current Master bedroom were added on much later. As Hidden Valley began to grow, George was the major real estate agent, selling his land to early homeowners. The Parkes sold 114 Imperial and built a home at the top of what is now Imperial ski slope. There are many landmarks in Hidden Valley named after them, so as you enjoy Lake George, Lake Helen and travel up the resort on Parke Drive, you can note that you are staying in THE ORIGINAL HOMESTEAD in Hidden Valley…nicely remodeled and redecorated for a more modern taste and for your comfort! We look forward to helping you create your own lasting memories in this cozy mountain home. Great stay at The Homestead! Our ski weekend at The Homestead was fantastic and the place was perfect for our group (two families with teenage kids)! Everyone enjoyed spending time around the fireplace and the location to the slopes can't be beat! Great communication with the owner and we would definitely book this place again!
