I know I am only giving it a rating of Average but I would stay there again and would recommend it. The hotel is...fine. It's not charming or fancy but it is nice and clean and not at all dingy or disappointing. My room was good. Comfortable with all the usual amenities. Great wifi and hot water, which are the two things I care about. The staff were helpful and nice. Helping me get this and print boarding passes and whatnot. Unfortunately when I stayed the restaurant and cafe were not operating but there are lots of places nearby. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is steps from the historical centre and near tons of eateries and cafes and shopping places. Lots to do. (Other areas I visited in Jeddah were not so pedestrian friendly.) It isn't cheap, but I don't think much in Jeddah is and I think the price was good for the area. I would recommend it and would stay again.

The Red Sea Palace is a hotel that's a bit past its prime but quite serviceable, and it is less extravagantly priced than the glittering luxury hotels that line the corniche road far from the city center. Its biggest asset is that it is one of the few comfortable accommodations close to the UNESCO-listed World Heritage "Old City." The room was spacious, with good Wi-Fi, and the bathroom facilities were up to snuff, though I must mention two demerits. There was no toilet paper in the room when I arrived at night, but fortunately there was not an urgent need for it till the next day, by which time I had pleaded with a room attendant down the hall for a roll. Also, one of the rolling wheels on the desk chair was not properly attached, and the chair overturned on me. When I pointed this out to the room staff, he immediately switched the faulty chair with one in another guest room, which solved my problem.... Some hotel staffers were warm and welcoming. Some behind the front desk seemed chilly and unhappy to be there. I should add it was not a bustling lobby -- but then again, I did not see many obvious tourists around the Old City till my third day in Jeddah, when I began to see actual European tour groups. I wondered where they were lodged, since I saw no such people at the Red Sea Palace.

This hotel are thieves and scam artists. I tried to check in on the 31st July and they informed me they had no water. They said I needed to find another hotel and they would refund me as soon as I contacted *******. I did this and waited patiently. I then received an email to tell me I would not be getting a refund. This hotel has lied and stole and I’m currently in contact with the police about retrieving my refund I am rightfully owed. The hotel do not pick up the phone or reply to my emails. Thieves and cowards. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL.

The hotel is in a good location. However, it is clearly showing its age and is in dire need of renovation. Although floors 1 and 2 have been renovated, the rooms are very musty and worn. The "pool", the roof terrace and other areas have not been maintained for years. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite all of this, we would recommend the hotel for a 2-3 day stay.
