Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace

Booked with BA Holidays and came April '25. The only room type offered by BA was described as 'side-seaview'. Allocated a room at the back, right on the very end facing the main FV1 road. Noisey and overlooking all the tree/plant debris dumped by the gardeners. Brochure showed photos of the sea and the description 'wake up to the sound of the waves'. BA lifted this directly off the Iberostar website. Hotel refused to move us, saying this it what BA paid for. Do BA pay the lowest rates?? The hotel said if we paid more money, we could be moved. After 3 days of no action, we called BA to intervene, and were eventually moved to a better/acceptable room, but lost day messing about and moving. From then on the hotel was good. Great food and wine/drinks. Reasonable price if on half-board. Large selection of meats/fish/salads. And at breakfast eggs any way you want them. The Japenese restaurant particularly good and entertaining. You get 1 x reservation, per week. The only other negatives about this hotel were the long lines to get served at the cooking stations (grills were too small for the number of guests), and sunbeds difficult to locate - all reserved. One day, we could not find one single sunbed OR chair. And in order to use the pool had to lay our towels on the floor to sit/lay. Not pleasant at 70+ yrs. Car hire needed, as a little out the way. Although you can walk to Morro Jable, a few miles away. The hotel closed, shortly after we left (May '25) and is planned to re-open Sept 25. Just hope they increase restaurant capacity. But nothing they can do about sun terrace size around the pools. Would we return? Maybe, as we liked the food.

Amazing hotel, this is our second time visiting. We have not been disappointed. We first came in April 2024 and the sea view room we had was fab so have requested it again by emailing the hotel. They replied stating they would try but could not guarantee anything. When we checked in, the receptionist mentioned our request and said they were able to get us into the room next to the one we had last year. This made our stay even better as the location of the room was perfect for what we needed and so quiet too. All the staff at this hotel work hard and are always smiling and saying ‘hola’ I didn’t use the pools as swam in the ocean most days. I felt safe as there is a lifeguard at the beach but it’s also possible to swim where the water is not too deep. The water was perfect for swimming in April and so clear too, goggles are a must so you can see the little fish near the rocks. Food and drink at this hotel were top notch as was the Japanese restaurant. We were lucky to get the last booking before it closed for renovation. At the buffet there was something for everyone and the desserts were so delicious and hard to just have one!! I used the spa for the circuit which was nice and relaxing but could be better if it was a little warmer, the steam room didn’t give out much steam and there was no relaxing music playing in the actual spa. There was some in the reception area . Also, would be nice to have a water dispenser within the spa and not outside near the toilets. I still enjoyed it and found it relaxing. We hope to come back to this beautiful hotel once it has been refurbished. I hope the staff you have will be retained as they are truly wonderful!! So refreshing to see the same staff that worked at the hotel last year. As a side note, this hotel is not really suitable for children 1+ Not much for them to do in the hotel and resort. This was our second stay in the hotel after staying for the same week last year (first week of March). We booked a side sea view room for 3 adults and as we booked direct with the hotel we could choose our room so we had the same room as last year (8427). Upon arrival in the hotel the familiar smell instantly hit us and it just made it feel like we never left. The first impression at check in wasn’t great, there was a queue and rather than sitting people down to give them a drink while they waited, we did have to queue quite a while before we were even acknowledged. However once we were seen to the check in was quick and we were offered a welcome drink. Our room was also ready early, we arrived about 1pm and so 2 hours ahead of official check in time. The bell boy was quick to take us to the room and all the staff were very friendly. The room was a good size, although for 3 adults it did lack storage. It was very quiet at night and always kept very clean. It also has an amazing view when you open the door into the corridor. We were missing a dressing gown when we arrived but reception were quick to rectify this. I also requested a kettle which they soon sorted out. We did also have an issue with the air conditioning and they sent someone out the evening we reported it and it was much better after that. The thing that makes this hotel is the staff, from all the cleaning staff, to the chefs, to the reception staff, to the waitresses and waiters, nothing is too much trouble. The omelette and pasta chef (Noreen I think was his name) remembered me and was always so happy. When we were in the restaurant Andres saw we had a steak a couple of times and brought over a steak knife without even being asked. Londono and Anthony also worked so hard and were so friendly in the restaurant. Merlyn in the sports bar was so kind, and so attentive, she knew what drinks we wanted before we even had to ask, we never had an issue getting drinks. Even by the pool they would come around with a drinks trolley and offer to take a drinks order, nothing was too much trouble. The food selection in this hotel is fantastic, there is show cooking from freshly grilled fish and meat to a pasta station, it really gives you everything you want. At night it also has a carvery station and in the morning freshly cooked eggs cooked to your liking. The foot was shot on the whole, occasionally it could be hotter. The plates were also hot. Compared to last year we felt the fruit selection had improved and there was also more choice of fish and meat. They even had lobster on the grill! There could be some more variety on the carvery or even a second carving station would be good. The potato and veg choice is also limiting, maybe there could be a good more choices, eg some roasted potatoes. The sweets can also be a bit limiting at times. This said the show cooking by the carvery every night changed and was really tasty and well presented. The only other negative I’d say is the labels
