From the moment we arrived, our stay at Paradisus by Meliá Fuerteventura was nothing short of outstanding. Every single team member we met went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Concierge – Sascha: Sascha gave us the warmest welcome as soon as we arrived. Our luggage was taken care of immediately, and he personally escorted us to the Reserve Lounge lobby, where we were offered refreshing drinks. Everything related to our luggage was handled seamlessly and efficiently in the background – a perfect start to our stay. Front Desk Reserve – Vanessa: Vanessa welcomed us with a bright smile and handled our check-in in the most professional way. She clearly explained the restaurant options and their opening times, and surprised us with a complimentary upgrade, which made us incredibly happy. The check-in was smooth and effortless – exactly how it should be. GEX Team – Alvarro: After check-in, Alvarro took the time to give us a full tour of the hotel. His explanations were detailed and engaging, and he made sure we understood every part of the resort. His professional yet warm personality really stood out – he’s a true ambassador for Paradisus. GEX Team – Lucasz: We met Lucasz at breakfast in the Reserve Lounge, and immediately appreciated his calm and professional demeanor. He shared many useful tips about the hotel and local activities. His genuine warmth makes every guest feel at ease from the first moment. GEX Team – Adriana: Adriana served us during dinner at Mascalzone. Her service was professional, yet she added a wonderful touch of humor that made the evening even more enjoyable. She recommended the Walk in the Sky experience – and she was right. It was magical and one of the highlights of our trip. GEX Team – Marianne: Marianne welcomed us with her warm smile at the GEX Front Desk and provided excellent advice on nearby activities. Her tip about bringing fruit for the giraffes at Oasis Wildlife turned into an unforgettable experience. She later asked us how it went and was genuinely happy about our excitement. Her kindness and attentiveness made us feel truly cared for. Reserve Lounge, Mahos & Kanna – Nacho: Nacho immediately impressed us with his professionalism and attention to detail. He treated every guest like royalty and took great care to accommodate our food intolerances (onions and peppers). Thanks to him, every meal was perfect. We deeply appreciate his dedication and look forward to seeing him again next year. Reserve Lounge – Julio: Julio is exceptionally courteous and guest-focused. He made our breakfasts in the Reserve Lounge relaxing and enjoyable every day. His professionalism and experience are obvious – he’s respected by his colleagues and adored by guests. Thank you, Julio, for starting each day with such positive energy. Kanna – Pablo: Pablo stands out at Kanna for his professionalism and calm presence. He ensures everything runs smoothly and guests feel relaxed. Thanks to his attention,

We stayed for five nights in October (Room 858) and found the hotel beautiful and full of potential, though with room for improvement. Check-in was delayed — despite confirming a 1 p.m. arrival, our room wasn’t ready until 3:30 p.m., and we had to chase for updates which isn’t the service we would expect. The location is excellent and convenient for exploring, though parking can be tricky and having a car is essential. The décor is stylish, and the main pool is large and well maintained, though the loungers aren’t very comfortable. We particularly appreciated the reserve sun-beds, which were exceptionally comfy, and the fact that the rules about reserving and leaving towels were properly upheld by all the staff. In the Reserve area, service was inconsistent — some staff brought our drinks directly to the loungers, while others did not. Given how quiet it was during our visit, a more consistent level of service would have been appreciated. Staff were warm, polite, and eager to please, and cocktails were great, though language barriers occasionally caused confusion. Our room had poor bathroom ventilation, leading to a damp smell and slow-drying towels (only changed once). There was also a small shower leak, and turndown service only happened on our final night. Dining was hit-and-miss: the carbonara was overly eggy, pizza undercooked, and the breakfast buffet disappointing, though we enjoyed meals at the Reserve and found most of the food elsewhere excellent. Lemon Fish is a lovely restaurant, though we wish it were open as a bar in the evenings. On our last day, the atmosphere of the hotel changed due to the opening event, which brought in many additional guests and made the Reserve area feel crowded and less relaxing. There was also quite a bit of drilling and setup work that we hadn’t been warned about, which was disappointing. Overall, it’s a beautifully designed hotel with great pools, a prime location, and friendly staff. With improvements in food quality, consistency of service, and room maintenance, it could easily live up to its potential.

Where do I begin? The hotel was absolutely everything and more! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and looked after. Special mentions go to Este, Ana, Maria and Juan who each went out of their way to make our stay extra memorable and special. You can really feel the care and passion they bring to their work and it made such a difference to our experience. The food was another highlight. Every menu was thoughtful and delicious but the tasting menu at Mahos especially stood out, it was inspired and something the team should be really proud of. One thing that really impressed us was the attention to detail throughout the hotel. Everything from the design choices to the inclusion of local artists showed how much thought and intention has gone into building the space. It felt meaningful and unique. We were also lucky enough to take part in a windsurfing lesson which ended up being so much fun. It was such a great addition to the trip and just one more reason why the stay felt so special. And of course the views, absolutely breathtaking from every part of the hotel. We will be back. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Disappointing. So bad we have paid for new flights to go home two days early. They promise From the moment you arrive, you will enjoy personalized service and access to unique offerings that will make your stay truly memorable. This is a lie. Nothing is personalised. It’s memorable for all the wrong reasons. They state in the welcome email We are delighted to welcome you to The Reserve at Paradisus, an experience designed exclusively for adults (16+), where you will find exceptional service, exclusive spaces, and a relaxed luxury atmosphere—a place to connect and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. Again a lie. I feel I have been miss sold a package and I’m livid. My time is precious. I have wasted 3 days here where I have eaten nothing! Yesterday I got raw chicken in the pool bar and cold chips. When I drew the waiters attention to it he just took it back. No apology. In fact it obviously happens all the time as he wasn’t even surprised. Last night we had dinner in Lemon Fish. Beside us two loud obnoxious women FaceTimed at full volume their friends. We asked the waiter to please ask them to tone it down but he wouldn’t. The people beside us left and so did we. The adults only exclusive areas do not exist. There is one terrace but only until 7. The Reserve pool is a fenced off pool wedged between the children’s play park and pool. Hardly the relaxing ambience they promise. At night the only place to eat is a buffet which was entirely cold. Every dish. No waiter service. No offer of wine. Cleaning is very rudimentary. Items not replenished. The balcony faces a car park and shipping containers. And is so cold and windy it’s impossible to use. Staff all appear to be shocked when we approach them about anything. Where is the personalised service! Oh but it’s going to be great! Well then don’t offer me 5 nights at over €2800 when it clearly isn’t ready. I’m beyond disappointed with this trip. Both my husband and I are upset and angry and looking forward to leaving this afternoon. And there is nothing else to do here. No trips. No activities. No spa. It is not 5 star. It is at best 3. If you are seeking luxury and relaxation please go elsewhere.

We’ve stayed at several Paradisus resorts over the years, which is why we chose this one and booked with high expectations. Sadly, this stay hasn’t lived up to the standard we’ve experienced elsewhere in the brand. Normally when we arrive at a Paradisus hotel, we upgrade and pay for a higher-category room without any difficulty. This time, asking about an upgrade felt a little awkward, almost as if we were requesting something complimentary rather than enquiring about a paid option. The room we ended up with was fine, but noticeably less impressive than the upgraded rooms we are used to booking. My main disappointments has been the gym situation. I called the hotel before our stay after seeing another review saying the gym wasn’t open. I was told it was, so we didn’t change our plans. When we arrived, we found that wasn’t true and were redirected to the gym at a neighbouring hotel. For me, having to walk to another resort to use a small, basic gym instead of having a proper, well-equipped facility on-site has really affected the experience. Food and dining has also been inconsistent. At Kanna, several items on the menu weren’t available, and we were served bread with empty dipping condiments. It felt careless for a hotel that’s supposed to offer a premium service. The Reserve breakfast hasn’t felt refined, and the lunchtime snacks have been minimal and sometimes not particularly fresh. The Reserve experience here just hasn’t added the extra level of luxury we’re used to with Paradisus. On a positive note, the poolside service in the Reserve area has been friendly and attentive. Turn-down service has been hit and miss as well sometimes done, sometimes not which affects that feeling of consistency and attention to detail you expect from a five-star resort. The main buffet has been another low point. If you go later in the evening, the food selection is extremely limited and the dishes left out appear to have been sitting for quite a while. The Ginger bar is also very small, meaning it’s often crowded with nowhere to sit, and long queues are common. Having to queue for drinks and then stand because there are no available seats doesn’t feel like a premium, relaxing experience. What has made this more frustrating is that we’ve had to raise multiple issues during our stay. Constantly needing to report things or question what’s happening takes away from what should be a relaxing holiday. We spent time planning this trip and were really looking forward to it, but unfortunately we now feel disappointed and regret choosing this resort. Overall, this hotel doesn’t currently reflect the level of quality and service we associate with the Paradisus name. If we had known about these things in advance especially the gym closure we would have chosen a different destination.

We’re currently staying at Meliá Paradisus Fuerteventura and sadly the experience has been a letdown from the moment we arrived. Having stayed at Paradisus Gran Canaria and absolutely loved it, we expected the same standard here but this feels like a completely different brand. The most frustrating issue is the lack of promised facilities. There is no gym on site despite being advertised and even confirmed by phone before we travelled. This was a key reason we booked, and being told this was available only to discover they are not feels misleading and careless. There is also no Spa. The food has been another major disappointment. The buffet resembles a 3-star canteen rather than a 5-star dining experience. Food is cold, congealed or poorly cooked. I’ve never had to spit food into a napkin in a hotel, yet I’ve had to do it twice here. At Lemon Fish the octopus was impossible to chew and the scallops were stone cold, and even simple vegetables in the buffet have been inedible. It’s disheartening to go to meals expecting quality and instead feeling like you have to settle for whatever is least disappointing. Service also doesn’t reflect a 5-star standard. There is no table service at the main bar, meaning guests queue for drinks. Staff seem stretched, restaurants run out of menu items, and even The Reserve breakfast lacks attention to detail and consistency, surprising given that it is marketed as the premium tier. When we raised our concerns, we were offered an “upgrade,” but it was the exact same room type on the other side of the building (our room is a sea view and isn’t part of our complaints). It didn’t feel like a meaningful gesture or recognition of the issues we’re experiencing. Yes, the hotel looks newly refurbished, but design alone cannot carry a resort. A true 5-star experience includes consistent service, well-prepared food, and the facilities guests are paying for, all of which are lacking here. It’s possible the hotel will improve over time, but right now it does not justify its rating, its brand positioning or its price. It simply doesn’t deliver what it promises. And the most disappointing part is if there were a better alternative nearby, we would leave, but the surrounding area doesn’t offer anything appealing enough to move to, so we feel stuck in a holiday that isn’t living up to what we paid for or what we were led to expect.

Wonderful location with stunning beach. Rooms fantastic with great sea view. However 5 star rating must be questioned. Breakfast can hold a 5star review. Lunch and dinner options not quite. Limited evening meal choices and the best restaurant Mahon only allows one visit per weeks stay. The self serve buffet did not vary much during the stay and food best classed as average. The biggest dissspoointed was service especially in the ginger bar of an evenings. Not enough staff or seating. Average wait to get served 45 mins. Just not good enough. Add to this confusion over food orders I would have to say service is closer to a 3 star. All staff are friendly and try there best but hotel is not set up to cater for the number of guests the hotel can hold. This is obvious when you see the same staff collecting towels from pool area then taking food orders. Lovely hotel just needs to get more staff and improve the service to hit a 5 star review.

Misleading Advertising & Poor Management – Definitely Not 5-Star I booked this hotel specifically for the volcano hike shown in their video and even confirmed it twice by phone before arrival. When we arrived, I was told the hike isn’t included for families with children and only applies to certain room types. I was devastated – this was the main reason for choosing this resort. When I raised it with the manager- Luis, he didn’t seem to care and simply told me I was welcome to leave a review about my experience. He told me that my complaints were my ‘perceptions’ and when asked what can he do to make the stay better he answered ‘why should I do anything’. He was happy for me to continue my stay dissatisfied and made zero efforts to change my opinion and made that very clear to which left me totally stunned. That’s not how a 5-star hotel handles guest concerns. Depending on the room category, the treatment you receive from arrival varies massively. At a true five-star, all guests should get a warm welcome and clear explanation of what’s included – we didn’t. The rooms looked clean at first glance, but check the corners and you’ll see otherwise. Turndown service only happened one night out of four. The food was poor, service mediocre, and overall it felt more like a 4-star hotel at best. The waiters and restaurant staff were genuinely lovely – it’s just a shame the management team couldn’t be as welcoming. The beach, though not part of the hotel, was absolutely stunning – the only real highlight. If you’re looking for a five-star experience, this is not it.
