We had a memorable 2 days at The Himalayan Kothi. Truly pet friendly, stunning location, beautiful kothi, good service, friendly staff & good food. We thoroughly enjoyed some unique Himachali experiences like staying in Kath-kuni home, learning to make Siddu & foraging. The rooms are spacious, equipped with all amenities, spotless bathroom & most importantly it gives a feeling of living in a Himachali Kothi and not a run of the mill hotel. The food was freshly made to order so it did take some time. We also tried the local Himachali dish called Siddu and it was delicious just like the fresh apple juice from their won orchard. It's a pet friendly place and our furbaby had a great time running around in the lawn. You can order pet food as per your requirement. I also went foraging with their staff which was a unique Himachali experience. We went to thier own orchard to get some Saag and enjoyed our Farm to table lunch of Sarson ka saag with Makkai ki roti. The staff is very friendly and prompt. The owner is very welcoming and we had some insightful conversations regarding Himachali culture and local places. I would highly recommend The Himalayan Kothi to anybody which is seeking a tranquil Himachali experience.

It was one of the best places I have stayed. I want to have an amazing family getaway in nature’s lap away from city ruckus and this place delivers that. The heritage house was detailed oriented with traditional culture and living in a place like that connects you more with the himachali culture. The food prepared was delicious as well. The staff prepare everything fresh in house and serves variety of indo Chinese cuisine. (Kudos to Mr Gopal and Mr Balbir for their service). Also the owner of the place is super nice. Place has nearest proximity to ***ali (around 45 mins drive) and you can have city fun time as well and evening driving back to the place is very practical. Highly recommend.

It is 24 hours since we have been here and I just could not resist posting my feedback, right away! WHAT A PLACE! An absolute Paradise indeed! A perfect place to master "Art of doing NOTHING!" Himalyan Kothi Kais is a stunning 5-room wood & stone chalet-style Villa, built in the traditional Himachali 'Kath-kuni' architecture, atop a hill-top. Overlooking snow clad mountains in the horizon, green hill tops all around, with river Beas flowing by deep-down, it just CANNOT get more magical than this... And that too, amidst a well maintained & operating Apple / Peach orchard! AND it is flowers galore all around - a stunning collection of different shades of gigantic roses, hydrangea, mesmeric trailing ice-plants, welcome lillies, yellow Jasmines, petunias, geraniums... Almost like a miniature Botanical garden! WOW! Coming to the villa itself, the rooms are well appointed & spacious with all facilities within. Of course, being built in the traditional style with ZERO mortar , some space adjustments have to be done accordingly. The main ingredient of this wonderful heritage paradise is the abundant TLC showered on this heritage home, by the owner Shalini Vats. Her personal involvement into everything is SO obvious and it truly makes a big difference. Food is prepared by the inhouse Chef/caretaker - Balbir Bharadwaj ji. Simple, pahadi cuisine at its best! So, IF you are seeking solace, calm, bliss AND away from the madding crowds, in the Valley of Gods - Kullu, do stay at this heritage paradise - Himalyan Kothi Kais. We had huge plans for the day - to drive around, go to Kullu town etc. Etc. BUT after experiencing the place first hand, we just decided to Chill . Relax . Rejuvenate! God bless Shalini and family for creating & preserving such an incredible heritage paradise amidst such beautiful terrain! SIMPLE Luxury - The Himachali way indeed!

A place of exquisite peace and beauty and a true sanctuary from this busy world that is getting harder and harder to find. Beautiful and special serene environment far away from the crowded destinations of your average tourist.

While driving through unseasonal inclement weather I stumbled upon this most beautiful and quaint property. Located about 4 Km above the Kais village about 10Km between Kullu and Naggar, Himalayan Kothi simply takes ones breath away. A stunning original Kath kuni structure is a very prominent feature of the property and it also contains rooms for stay. Being an impromptu trip I was more concerned with having a nice meal and was hoping to discover the possibility of a restaurant. My second pleasant surprise of the day was that they had this cozy coffee shop on the property overlooking the valley. I had the privilege of meeting the owner Shalini, who was coincidentally visiting at the same time. She was very kind enough to explain to me how she has strived to be 'different' and unique and non commercial and has targeted the concept of original "Himachal Hospitality". What followed was a tailor maid rice and egg dish which was simple but sublime and it was evident that the hospitality culture here was uniquely different. Far from the madding crowd as they say...

Average place, overpriced. Food options very limited. Lots of chameleons in the lawns which made us uncomfortable. Person in ground floor room can hear the conversation of the floor above which made sleeping difficult! Views were very good, fruit trees in abundance... it's kullu after all :)
