Jambiani Villas

When our first choice of lodging, near Paje, was not available, we settled on Jambiani Villas – and were so happy we did. After all of the hustle and bustle we experienced in Arusha, and the market near Stone Town, it was a relief to stay at such a quiet, peaceful and gorgeous place. And the staff made us feel so welcome. We can’t say enough about Bana, Agata, Aziz, Hans, Daniel (our Maasai “security guard”) and the rest of the staff. They made our stay that much nicer. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa just steps from the beach, restaurant and pool – so convenient, and really lovely. The upstairs suite has its own air conditioning unit, and a balcony which overlooks the Indian ocean and a few padded lounge chairs shaded by thatched-roof coverings that provided needed shade. While children are certainly welcome, there is far less to keep them entertained than other resorts on the island. Zanzibar is hotter than the mainland, but the ocean breezes keep the restaurant and rest of property very comfortable. They have a small but lovely menu and a daily menu and drink specials that changes daily. I enjoyed most of what I ordered there, with the highlight being a lovely buffet of Swahili traditional meals (all delicious) and a performance by local Maasai men showing some of their tribal dances. Bring swim shoes if you want to walk in the water at low tide (sea urchins and coral).

Our opinion is related to a family trip for 2 weeks vacation to the paradise island of Zanzibar. Luckily, we spent this time in the best hotel on the island - Jambiani Villas :) Hotel consists of 3 properties about 300m from each other, with a restaurant in the middle one. First and most importantly, the hotel is very clean. Cleaning service is daily, they do their job thoroughly. Comparing to other hotels, Jambiani Villas have the cleanest pool, restaurant and rooms. Moreover, hotel service is professional, helpful and fiendly, manager constantly collects feedback from guests. We can sincerely recommend the private BBQ, which provides delicious food and an unique atmosphere. It was a wonderful, romantic end of a day :) In general, the restaurant will satisfy the most demanding customers, dish of the day + menu a la carte with local specialties. Breakfasts are served as a buffet - including the best guacamole I have ever eaten. Last but not least - the location of the facility is ideal. The hotel is located in the center of Jambiani and on the first line by the ocean. In summary, we spent the best vacation in our lives there and we truely recommend it to everyone!!!

Jambiani villas comprise 3 separate sections. We were given a room in a noisy section which spoiled our stay. Our section was next door to a beach bar which plays noisy loud music from 12 midday to 11 pm at night. Building works were also going on at 2 houses either side. Otherwise this is an ok place.

The resort is spread over 3 locations in Jambiani. Each location has a small number of villas / apartments so it remains intimate. Each location has a pool and is beachfront. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our villa was comfortable, clean and spacious with a small kitchenette with daily housekeeping. Aircon and ceiling fans kept us cool and WiFi generally worked quite well though slow download speed. Breakfast was included, buffet style plus egg dishes cooked to order. Lunch and dinner was also good with specials that changed each day. Food and drinks can be delivered to your villa or you can eat in the terrace restaurant which is located in the middle property. For us that meant a 10 minute walk either along the beach or through the village which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again.

Jambiani Villas was a very great place to stay. It has one of the friendliest staff you can ever find. They keep it very clean and they help organise tours for you with trusted agents in Zanziba. The meals were very delicious. Will return here.
