Was there in winter.....everything was good. Warm welcome. Good food. Staff is friendly and helpful. Felt home..... Decor was wow. Really à fusion of hôtel stay and home stay. The personal was good, checking on us regularly. Amenities were there just like in a hotel. Worthy experience

Out of all the hotels I stayed in during a 2 week trip across Rajasthan, this was the best in terms of hospitality, design, and cleanliness. Peter, the hotel manager, was a great host who catered to all our needs and went above and beyond what was expected. He unexpectedly picked us up from the Jaisalmer train station, gave us suggestions on excursions, showed us how to make a Jaisalmer breakfast item, and even packed us food to go for our trip to Udaipur after our stay. Peter also has two cute dogs who are very cute and friendly :) The location is excellent near the base of the fort and there is a great view of the fort from the rooftop. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!

It was a memorable experience. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast. To top us these goodies, you have one of the best hospitalities you can hope for. The not-so-big cosy hotel is located very close to the Fort and is easily accessible. The support staff is so well behaved and courteous and in particular the Manager, Mr. Chandan Jha. The warmth and respectfulness of Mr Jha simply floored me. Overall a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic time here. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so welcoming and friendly, especially Peter. Each time we came back to the hotel we were offered chai tea and cake! The breakfast was included in the room rate and was wonderful especially the freshly squeezed juice and masala omelette made just the way I like it. The room was very large with a sitting area and very comfortable bed. The hotel was exceptionally clean and rooms are serviced twice per day with snacks and drinks refreshed. We enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and the indoor pool. The location just near the entrance to the fort is fantastic for sightseeing. This is the place to stay In Jaisalmer.

Totally excellent experience all round. Charming and welcoming staff, stylish accommodations and great roof top restaurant. Located just outside the main entrance to the fort with windows and roof terrace looking on to the fort. Would definitely return.

My wife and I spent two nights at 1st gate Jaisalmer during our two-week tour of India's Gujurat and Rajasthan States. We stayed at several splendid places but 1st gate Jaisalmer was easily our favourite. Our first-floor bedroom was beautifully furnished and very spacious, with all the usual amenities and, very appreciably, unlimited amounts of bottled mineral water at our free disposal. The hotel was small enough to give it a feeling of family charm but, make no mistake, it was as luxurious as any of the big-city palaces where we stayed. The rooftop restaurant gives a direct view onto the city ramparts and the downstairs breakfast room is cosy and intimate. The staff are unfailingly friendly and courteous and made us feel like we were part of the family, tending to all our needs, night and day. This is probably the nicest hotel we have EVER stayed in.

Great hotel close to the fort . The rooms are big and well decorated in a stylish way. Service is excellent , the staff is genuinely nice and took great care of us . We traveled with our two teenage boys and they also really enjoyed the experience .
