Amanbagh, translating as 'peaceful garden', provides a tranquil refuge to access the rich heritage of Rajasthan’s dramatic frontier region. Lying within a walled compound that was once the staging area for the Maharajah of Alwar’s royal hunts, the resort evokes the palatial grandeur of the Mughal era. Amanbagh’s graceful domed main building houses the Restaurant on the ground floor, which opens onto a terrace overlooking the garden. The menu focuses on seasonal Indian and Western cuisines, with vegetables and herbs grown in the organic kitchen garden. The Library Terrace, located on the second floor of the main building, is ideal for informal dining in the evenings. The Library itself offers a variety of reference books on the history, arts, culture and wildlife of India. Elevated above a canopy of trees, the Rooftop provides sweeping views over the surrounding hills and is another option for alfresco dining. The main building also houses a small boutique. A 33-metre swimming pool and a 12-metre wading pool lie at the heart of Amanbagh’s gardens. Both are heated during the cooler months. In the Ayurveda-influenced spa, skilled therapists draw on India's ancient healing philosophy to provide a range of treatments, including facials, massages and scrubs. Yoga and meditation take place within the gardens and at scenic spots beyond Amanbagh’s grounds. Tailormade Wellness Immersions are also offered. Show More

The resort is beautiful. However, given its pricing, it unfortunately sets expectations that it is unable to fulfill. We had two major issues: one was noise at night. We hardly slept due to extreme road and music noise from the street. The second issue was food quality. While everything is presented in a very pretentious manner, the actual quality does not come close to the standards expected at this type of property and price level.

- A perfect, multi-night stay at Amanbagh - What a peaceful sanctuary; stunning setting, architecture, design - General manager Harry is outstanding, really went out of the way to deliver excellence and bespoke luxury; warm, welcoming, patient, incredible energy. What an amazing leader. - Manager Narendra did a superb job accommodating many requests, incredibly helpful, outstanding - Really impressed at quality of service, especially at the restaurant. Servers are really good. And the food far exceeded expectation. Incredible dining experience - Vikram is simply incredible; highest quality luxury and service. Model of top quality, in every facet. - Santosh, Kavendra, Ashish all excellent and impressive - Oasis of calm; the lighting, candles, and ambience during dinner is incredible; the singing experience is really special, marvelous touch - Only suggestion is the spa; massage therapist's hands are quite rough (texture), and although good, not at the high level of the rest of the property. Wish there was a steam/sauna. - Overall, stunning and excellent! Highly recommend

Harry and his team made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. The chef cooked delicious meals and gave us a tour of the organic gardens. It was wonderful experiencing the different tastes and smells of the herbs and spices used in his cooking as well as seeing the fresh selection of vegetables for our evening meals. There was plenty to do at the hotel if you wanted something more active than just having the luxurious spa treatments and lying by the stunning pools. We enjoyed the early morning walks to the village ***** country paths, followed by yoga and meditation before our delicious breakfasts served by excellent, helpful staff. Whatever the occasion, a stay here is magical!!!! Thank you for giving us an unforgettable experience.

Fraud or policy … I have been there for lunch … they people mostly entertain the caucasian people only anyways they allowed us in the restaurant asked us to pay min 20 k per person that was fair enough… when I entered i felt staff were little rude. Mr gautam the front office guy . That’ was also ok after had lunch I asked for the bill there was service charges were added . I asked mr santosh to remove he said sir it’s not possible. Although in india you can’t force any one to pay the service charge. May be they do scam with Caucasians also … it’s my advice if you going to stay in this hotek read the policy’s . Although taj rambagh palace also charges 1200-1500 usd per night but this hotel and staff is not professional

My wife and I recently stayed here during our honeymoon trip to India — a beautiful hotel with a incredibly relaxing aura. The rooms were beautifully presented. The food was fantastic with such a wider range of cultural dishes from around the country. The staff were wonderful — we went for rooftop cocktails each evening looking forward to our conversations with Nikil who who tell us everything we wanted to learn about India. Our highlight though was the hotel organising an excursion to a mountain fort where we had a private yoga session overlooking the valley. I would highly recommend Amanbagh to any visiting this part of Rajasthan.

Where to start…from the warmest welcome song to the magical anniversary dinner on the balcony, this place has enchanted us. The hotel is an oasis of peace and beauty. The rooms make you feel as if you are a Maharajah or Maharani, the wildlife is a constant source of interest and the food is absolutely delicious. So much of the produce comes from the hotel’s own gardens; it’s some of the freshest and often delicate food we’ve ever had. The staff, led by the charming hotel manager Harry, are excellent and knowing how supportive the hotel is of the local community makes staying here feel beneficial as well as self-indulgent! I absolutely loved that if you put a little wooden carving on your bed each day to show you don’t need your sheets changed (and let’s face it people, who needs their sheets changed every day - you don’t do that at home I hope), the money saved on washing gets put into community projects instead. We tried to do most of the excursions and they were all lovely, giving you a real flavour of the local area’s history, culture and beauty. Amanbagh will live long in our memory and maybe we will get to come back for our next ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ holiday!

This was the best Aman we have stayed in. It was the nicest hotel I think we have ever stayed in (and we do a lot of luxury travel). The service was EXCELLENT. We had a server named Sparsh and he was so kind and attentive. The rest of the staff bent over backwards to assist. The actual property was also gorgeous. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s worth every penny!
