After scouting for several hotels in Jaipur we selected this quaint botique hotel at Gopal Bari. The property is very beautiful (exterior & interior) with exotic thematic rooms, but clearly the owners are not in charge. Checked in on 18th July, 2024 & realised that infrastructure is broken. We booked a Luxury Room (Kutch theme). A large beautiful room with balcony. Soon after check in we realised the multitude of problems - broken toilet seat, leaking water faucet & foul smell of urine. We were asked not to use the washroom exhaust fan which interestingly pulls the smell from the external ambience into the room. Weird physics. There is a TV in the room but the owners are not bothered about subcribing to media services. There is a Tata set top box but only with silly free channels. We had to eventually move to a lower category much smaller room (Patachitra). The room is way smaller without a balcony, without a wardrobe (which the Luxury room had), basic bathroom fixtures like clothes hanger or toilet paper hanger. The manager Diksha is incompetent. We asked for a late check out & she insisted that we have to pay Rs.1000 for 12 hours. We just needed it extended by 3-4 hours. Diksha said that check out is at 11 am & that there is a booking. The moment I agreed to pay Rs 1000, she said that the room was available. She lied with a smiling poker face. While we as tourists are willing to adjust & accomodate, these folks aren't. They just want to take you for a ride because most people have accepted poor service as a standard.
