To be honest, I booked here before reading the reviews & was apprehensive as some were not favourable. However, I need not have worried, we had a lovely weels stay here in our caravan on a hard/ grass pitch, fully serviced. We stayed after the school holidays had ended so it was quiet, few children on site 7 only at weekends. It was busy but quiet, calm & peaceful. The pitches were well maintained, the site was clean, the facilities clean 7 of a very good standard. We stayed on the side for touring campers, so away from the lake, which we preferred. The staff were very friendly. A great location for visiting, Bruges, Ostend & Ghent. We would happily stay here again.

This site for us was our 3rd and longest, 5 nights of a 2 week holiday in the Netherlands and Belgium. Travelling in a campervan and booked a paved pitch, basically concrete tracks in the middle of a grass pitch separated from others by hedges, a great pitch, good staff in reception if run off her feet but that's the end of the positives. Toilets and showers poor standard and cleanliness questionable. Limited amount of showers for such a big site. Two out of order, urinal out of order. No shop on site which is odd for such a big place. There is a supermarket in the village which is good and 15 min walk from the site. Site bar part of a Chinese restaurant and generally unpleasant inside although tables outside if you can even get served to take a drink outside. The little cafe at the entrance to our part of the site did chips etc. The lake area looks good but we didn't use it as no kids with us. Bar opposite the beach ok for an evening drink, and the Ibis next to the lake has an ac bar which is good to escape intense heat we experienced during our stay. So if like us decent toilets and showers, a good bar and somewhere for a decent feed is a must then wouldn't recommend this site.

Not what we expected, a very cramped site with not much space between Pitches. Reception not near the site for Motorhomes / Caravans / Tents. The Washroom / WC facilities were always too busy and never clean. For a site this size they should be at least three times the size. Noisy Bar with Music that went on after 11:30pm which became very annoying especially as the guy could not sing (personal o pinion) We actually left and moved on early so would definitely not recommend this site. We have been to 4 more sites on our tour and honestly they are like night and day. Avoid.

Do NOT expect the wifi to be working, there is so much work going.... on the electrical hook is at best is precarious. The showerblock is dated, but on a a positive is warm, although the shower cubicles are child size, don't leave anything on the floor, as will be soaked when the shower is switched on. Reception apologetic, but not in a position to correct any issues. Happy Days bar/cafe is OK, although not really prepared to service requirements of on site campers. On the whole, at best a 'work in progress' plenty of capacity to improve.

Word of warning, I’ll let the photos do the talking! Also people from the UK are NOT welcome in the “happy days” pub on site! They will rush out with reserved table signs and say they are too busy to serve you. When asked to replace bed linen due to mould they returned, we then found we had no duvets, some of our group waited until night 2 to receive a duvet after asking multiple times. Very very sad about this place.

Just spent 3nights at this place in chalets with a junior football club that were playing a tournament in Brugge over the bank holiday weekend. On arrival at the chalets, each one was absolutely filthy and disgusting. Toilets not cleaned, smelly, sick stains and smells on pillows, stains on pillows and bed sheets. Stains on curtains. Pots in cupboards with a lot of stains and old food on them. Windows that leak. Holes in bedroom floors that should have vents in them. Big complaints to the management After refusing to stay they eventually agreed to clean the chalets again and replace all the bedding and pillows etc. This made it a little better but nowhere near the standards you expect. Basic cleanliness and hygiene is an expected minimum requirement. We went to the local supermarket and bought antibacterial sprays and wipes to be on the safe side. With some free time on the first day we all went to “Happy Days” the aptly named bar on the site. The guy was friendly but the old grey/blonde lady had a face like thunder all the time we were there and made it absolutely plain that we weren’t welcome. We eventually left and went into town a 5/10 min walk away. It’s a lovely little town and a lot more friendly and welcoming than Happy Days. On the second day of the tournament we all decided to give Happy Days another go, but after walking in to empty tables and a few locals in the old grey/blonde lady quickly put reserved signs on the empty tables again making it totally obvious we weren’t welcome. We all decide to just walk out and go back into the town. I would not recommend this site at all not a chance. I’m not sure who the old grey/blonde lady is but she alone has cost Happy Days a lot of custom over the weekend and I don’t understand why.

We stopped here for the final week of a two week holiday with our tourer. The site is available to caravans and motorhomes, there is also a residential area at the back of the site. The pitches are spacious but here is the first of the disappointment for me. We booked a serviced pitch which means on this camp site, you share the water power and drainage with four other pitches. This was a little bit of a problem as we didn’t have our aqua roll with us so had to keep disconnecting our water hose when other people wanted to use the water. It was all very friendly and once I explained everyone was understanding. The shower block is a touch dated but the toilet were fine. When you arrive on site you have to pay €30 for a card which has €5 on it for the shower. If you use the €5 then you have to top up to use the shower again. As we were there for a week we challenged ourselves to make it last the week. Every time my wife and I went for a shower we would soak ourselves down and take out the card. We would then put the cars back in and wash ourselves down. So the only time me the water was running was when you needed it! At first we thought it inconvenient but after thinking about what we done, we probably saved a fair bit of water which got to be good for the environment. We had €1 refunded so we did it! The site has a bar that serves food and a chip shop on the side of it. One night we decided to have a takeaway and used the chip shop. Don’t! An older lady spotted me at the counter after me being there for a few minutes and looked at me as if I had done something to upset her! We had a chicken burger and chips. The burger was minced chicken cooked in the fryer and the chip were frozen chips. The salad in the burger was a lettuce leaf that had seen better days and a slice of tomato. We didn’t eat it all! There is a play area for children and a fun pool, which for the first 5 days had a little old water in it with algae. They did clean the pool and drain what water was in it but we never saw it full or in use. Across the road and about 100m before the entrance for the caravan park is another section for residential/holiday let’s. There is a bit of a square with a chinese restaurant, a tiny shop and a 24 hour shop. Don’t get excited! We were going to use the Chinese as I love Chinese food but I went in to ask if I could see a menu in English because the menu out side was in Dutch (yes it was a surprise to me but Dutch is one of the main languages in Belgium). The little old Chinese lady looking at me then said angrily, “you want to see English menu, you come in for food!” We didn’t ! The 24 hour shop turned out to be vending machines! Next we walked out from the square and behind it was a very large lake with a beach on it. It looks lovely, there is a couple of water slide on one end and a bouncy castle adventure floaty thing the other. We could see life guards sitting in chairs but sadly no one else. T

It doesn't even deserve 1 star. Everything was awful from day 1. Firstly I paid for a hard paved pitch but was put on grass as the paved ones were being redone or so I thought as after a couple of days people were put on them. The electrics are completely useless. I had to call out maintenance to fix it at midnight as our power went off. The power and water/drain was shared for 4 pitches so not fully serviced as stated. The noise like other people have said it dreadful. The motorway noise is constant and loud but Saturday night there was music blasting until 4am. It wasn't from the site but the adjacent sports arena so could not do anything about it. It was so bad the van was vibrating. There is also building work and diggers from 7am as they dont ccare about people sleeping .The toilets are filthy and smelly and having to pay for hot water for the dishes is a disgrace. There is no shop just 4 vending machines with overpriced food. The lake is completely closed off due to bacteria so it should not be advertised. The staff are rude and unfriendly and their system is a joke. you have to pay a 25 euro deposit for the key card which is fine but as I was leaving early I went to see them to find out what to do. The lady on reception said to drop in the night before and they would refund our cash and then drop the key in the box when I left. When i returned it was different people who said it would have to be refunded by bank account as they didn't trust i would return the card. This is not what I wanted or was told as I needed the euros for the last day. It is also going to cost me to have it put in my account. I am extremely angry about how I have been treated and don't know if I will even get the deposit back as the staff were just laughing at me. I will be contacting the caravan and motorhome club as that is who I booked it through. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS SITE THERE ARE MANY OTHER ONES IN THE AREA. I went for a holiday but couldn't not wait to go home!!!!

Ever wanted to experience living in a shanty town? Now’s your chance! On the website this place looks quite good, playground facilities, lake, cafe and bar etc. The actual experience was somewhat different. After we paid and checked in we went to the other side of the site to try the water slide at the lake only to discover the lake was closed off with 6ft metal fences due to a “toxic bacterial” problem in the water. To be fair this wasn’t the fault of the site but there was no mention that their main leisure facility was closed at anytime when booking or checking in. The on site restaurant is an 80’s style Chinese restaurant which offers an outside bar in the car park. So you can enjoy a beer whilst feeling the breeze of cars and feral kids rushing by on bikes and pedal cars. You can treat yourself by going back to the camping site bar to experience the welcoming atmosphere of a 70’s motorway services. There you can sit on the sloping concrete patio intoxicated by the mixed smell of strong tobacco and blocked drains. Though you can enjoy the blocked drain smell over much of the site. Once the critical mass of children has been achieved the portable arcade (think fairground trailer) opens about 8pm offering plenty of opportunities to spend 5 euros on the coin pushers or even more on the claw machine to try and win a cuddly toy worth 2 euros. Or even to my surprise (given its kids playing the machines) win a cigarette lighter. Having fleeced their parents of all the coins the kids all head to the filthy playground, to get themselves covered in the fine dusty earth that seems to give them all the authentic Oliver Twist level of grubbiness - don’t worry they’ll all be found later bathing in the shower block sinks. They have to use the sinks as despite the fairly high night camping rate they charge extra for the showers! This is managed by a card system requiring a 25 euros deposit and the shower cost on top. The shower block themselves have 4 showers in the gents (and I assume the same for the ladies) which is woefully too few for the hundreds of people staying on site. So expect to queue. If you need the loo, be sure to avoid the cubicles with the missing or broken seats and even consider taking your own soap as the dispenser will likely be empty. If you have children on your own with you, they can look forward to being cornered and threatened by the marauding gangs of kids who seem to be long term resident on site. My 9 year old was understandably surprised to be surrounded and intimidated by several kids years older than him because he talked to his older sister and they took offence to him speaking to his own family, though this did follow his refusal to handover his football to them to keep. When picking a pitch head for the middle in line with reception. I assumed from the site plan the tree lined edge would be better but this seems to be predominantly ramshackle long term pitches of outdated caravans and sheds, many patched up with t
