Located in Izu, Ochiairo is a historic ryokan situated along a river, only a 4-minute drive from Joren Waterfall and 10 minutes from Shuzenji Temple. This luxury property is also within easy reach of Kawazu Nanadaru Waterfalls (17.8 km) and the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace (20.4 km). Tengu no Yu has been transformed into a swimsuit-style thermal spring, featuring an open-air bath overlooking the Kano River and a cave bath, along with a sauna filled with natural hot spring water for added moisturizing benefits. Tsuki no Yu offers a serene indoor bath with soft natural light, and a tea-room inspired sauna designed by renowned sauna master Dai Matsuo, selected among “Japan’s Top 10 Must-Visit Saunas.” Hoshi no Yu has been renovated from a private bath into a gender-separated large bath, featuring an open-air bath and a dry sauna, ideal for alternating hot and cold bathing. In addition, a riverside tent sauna allows guests to refresh directly in the river after heating up, creating a truly unique wellness experience. At the property’s café, guests can enjoy light meals, or opt for room service (limited hours). The day can be rounded off with a drink at the bar/lounge.
