On our first attempt we drove right past the entrance-the demolished building at the entrance made us wonder if we were in the right place, but as soon as we were through the gates, we could see that we were somewhere exceptional. The building is elegant, the grounds superb, and the public spaces roomy with welcoming decor. It's more of a big B&B rather than a small hotel, but a very good one. I suspect that we had the smallest of the rooms, but we were comfortable enough for our 4 nights. Ter Wallen is an easy walk from the Markt square and the station, so it's a good spot for exploring this part of Belgium, and close enough to some of the historic battlefields for a day trip. Izigem itself is a nice small town, with plenty of spots to enjoy a beer or two. Ter Wallen's breakfast is on the expensive side; we only had breakfast on one morning but it was very good.

Lovely escape to a peaceful house in Belgium
Ter Wallen is a beautiful house in peaceful grounds, close to some of Belgium’s prettiest towns.
We stayed in the Eperon d'Or suite which has lots of space and is really beautifully designed.
Getting up to the loft space with single beds is a bit of a squeeze due to a small spiral staircase.

Lap of Luxury
Warmly welcomed in person into the grand and beautiful house. Ample parking. Our hosts assisted with dinner reservations a short walk away and had a delicious breakfast spread the next morning. The family room was very spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable with the softest sheets. It’s evident that the hosts enjoy treating their guests to luxurious little details. I only wish we had the time to spend another night and enjoy the grounds more.

Absolutely stunning - we held a family party here and rented the property to do so. Everyone was delighted with the amazing house, grounds and beautiful pool. The event planning was very easy - the management are extremely proficient and knowledgeable- it was a wonderful experience planning a party here. The rooms are gorgeous, lots of space in the wonderful dining room, bar and terraces. Would do this again in a heartbeat! Spectacular!

6 of us stayed here on a cycling trip to Belgium recently. It's a large old house, full of character, very comfortable, refurbished and a delightful terrace overlooking the gardens and lake, with a small swimming pool. Laurence was an excellent host and made us very good breakfasts each day. Several restaurants in walking distance. Within easy reach of Ghent, Bruges and Ypres. Fairly flat cycling if you're interested, including 34 miles along canal to Ghent.

Prachtige en statige B&B omringd door een mooie parktuin en vijver, in het centrum van Izegem, op wandelafstand van cafe's en restaurants. Luxueuze kamer met prachtige, ruime badkamer. Vriendelijke gastvrouw die zorgt voor een top ontbijt. Kortom, een aanrader!

Bare helt fantastisk. Både utvendig og innvendig. Og personalet som vi traff da vi kom og da vi reiste. Men på familierommet vårt skulle der vært nattbord med lamper i andre etasje der der var 4 senger. Kunne også tenkt meg et lite rom for utsjekk og oppgjør i stedet for å stå i gangen. Ellers så var innkjørselen litt anonym. Men da vi fant den så var det ikke mange meter så var det den vakreste innkjørselen man kunne tenke seg.
