Villa di Mare Seaside Suites

Ixia|1.24km from Virgin Faneromeni
Arriving at the airport and being met was ‘comforting’ no need to look for a taxi or bus. Nice start. We arrived later in the evening and the gentleman on reception took his time in showing us around the small complex and into room, delivering our bags. We had a room with its own little plunge pool - although rather cold! The room was quite compact but decorated nicely and very clean. Maid service each day. There were six rooms with these little plunge pools and they seemed to vary in size slightly. They did not show on Google earth when I looked so I presume are relatively new. The rooms are directly across to another room with a plunge pool but trees/bushes were growing to help with privacy. The only downfall I had with the privacy was due to a long wooden walkway running above one side of these six rooms. It led to a community room/area for local people at the back of the hotel. A fence had been erected for privacy/safety (or was probably there before these rooms were built) but some people would stop and look through the slats of the fence. It made me uncomfortable at times whilst sunbathing. And the noise from the walkway was apparent most days with children running up and down the wooden walkway area. But that’s my opinion and it may not have bothered anyone else. The main pool was relaxing and the open views across the sea were mesmerising. Lovely to lie and read/relax in such pretty surroundings. We were on a bed and breakfast package. And this was available until 12 each day. It was an A la Carte type menu and the choice did not disappoint. Lots of choice. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening as there didn’t seem to be much for my husband - who likes ‘basic’ food!!! And even with the 15% off looked a little pricey. But the cocktails from the pool bar were delicious. Lots of outside restaurants and drinking places nearby. 2 directly across the road. If you turn right when you exit the hotel and keep walking past some of the bigger hotels you’ll come to a fabulous Italian restaurant on your left. We walked into Rhodes Town. It took about 90 mins. Taxi back! A great little boutique hotel. Very trendy especially for the younger than myself and my husband set!! High standards. It’s a place to be seen I was told. 😄

Rodos Palace Hotel

The room was perfectly renovated with a perfect view but its temperature with the air conditioning at the maximum was between 27 & 29 degrees The mini bar had no cooling When I complained they told me it was not a refrigerator ironically in the reception and after it found it Technical not corrected until we left The room was as a supply to the coffee shop but we were paid at the end of the coffee in a 5-star hotel with a price-high price at night The elevator had no air conditioning and was a gas chamber up to the 17th floor which we stayed The supermarket of the hotel cost me an extra 10 minutes the cigarette package I bought because it does not give me a card as he told me and showed me a handwritten note General culture of the decade 70-80s which in no way justifies the Category 1
Avra Beach Resort
4.4/543 Reviews
Our week at Avra Beach was a last minute booking with Jet 2, on an all inclusive basis. The whole Jet 2 experience from booking, check in, flight and transfers was done with professionalism, friendliness and ease. We will now, in future put Jet 2 to the top of our list when looking to book holidays again. Avra beach was booked with no prior research so we had no expectations of either good or bad things. The hotel is clean and the staff are both welcoming and friendly. Our room which we upgraded on arrival had some oddities. Mainly the shower and toilet are side by side and only had a sliding door that enclosed one or the other but not both.(If privacy is a requirement for you whilst carrying out ablutions then this set-up doesn't bode well) We where right next to the pool and the room was noisy all day. This didn't really bother us as we where out most of the time. It did quieten down in the evenings so we did sleep well. The drinks where on tap from from soft drinks too local beers and wines in various areas and also served to you at the bars along with local spirits and cocktails. The unexpected highlight for us was the quality of the food. The main buffet restaurant had great choice and had themed eating every evening. This included lovely lamb, beef, chicken, pork and turkey dishes along with good fish. They have to try and cater for several different nationalities but they turned out a varied and substantial menus at every sitting. The satellite eateries where also really good. The Greek and Italian serving foods like gyros, moussaka, pizzas, salads through out the day and the snack bar was also excellent serving a whole range of fayre from sandwiches and savouries to cakes and ice cream. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Avra beach and we would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in Rhodes.
Blue Roses
4.3/56 Reviews
I have stayed now a total of 3 times at Blue Roses Apartment. Theo is a credit and made me feel welcome, the location is very close to Rhodes Old Town and only a bus or taxi ride away. Being close to the Airport it is a perfect location for all your Rhodes needs. Sigma excursions is only a stones throw to which you have multiple options to do different types of trips to suit your needs. Napoli restaurant is absolutely amazing and the food is and always will be the best for me. Blue Roses Apartment is very clean and I have never had an issue with any of my 3 stays. Bathroom is spotless and towels are refreshed as well as bed sheets on a daily basis. I would highly recommend Blue Roses to anyone and everyone.
