Aqua Hotel Brussels

Ixelles|0.9km from Luxembourg Square
When I chose Aqua Hotel I had in mind the proximity of a means of public transport (about 5 min walk is the subway station Porte de Namur), the positive reviews of other travelers and it caught my attention in the photos posted on booking.com and TripAdviser a large decoration inside the hotel. Arriving on the spot, the first impression was of a decent hotel, but because I already have some experience in traveling and after talking to the reception staff and the hotel manager, I can say that it is a very good hotel. The hotel was made 12 years ago. In the building, which was completely renovated to meet the new use, the offices of a branch of Kodak were previously located. I understand that the owner of the hotel is a great art lover and even had an art gallery before the hotel where works of contemporary Belgian plastic artists were exhibited/sold. Paintings that were not sold now decorate the hotel rooms. In my room I have a 2014 Yorik Efira. This explains the decoration that I mentioned before. In fact, it is a work of art belonging to Arne Quinze. It is made of wooden planks painted in a shrill blue that contrasts with the whiteness of the walls. The work symbolizes several streams of water that are found both outside and inside, seeming to penetrate through the glass roof of the hallway at the reception. The work follows the elements of the building and gives the impression of dynamism. Quite unusual for a hotel! The bed is comfortable, all the installations in the room / toilet work flawlessly, cleaning is done every day. Breakfast is rich, diverse, and the omelette is present. Next to it sausages, or small slices of roasted ham. And the pastry, a miracle! The staff is very kind and provides accurate and useful information about the problems you may have as a tourist in Brussels.

Hygge Hotel

The hotel is a little distance from the station and the main attractions. When you go to the hotel, there are many uphill sections and some sections are under construction. The hotel lobby has a different style of seating area, which is spacious and has an elevator to take. The style of the room is minimal, the environment is clean, and the space is small (a little crowded, unable to flatten two open suitcases); the shower has a shower, the strength is enough, but the drainage is very slow; there is no air conditioning in the room. The window needs to be opened for ventilation, but the sound on the road outside after opening the window is very noisy. The breakfast style is rich and delicious, and hot water needs to be available at the counter. The hotel counter staff was kind and friendly, and met a girl who could speak Chinese when checking out.

The younger brother at the front desk was very polite and nice. Breakfast is good, although there are not many varieties. The room is not big, expected. After all, the price is OK. There are too few charging sockets, this is not expected. The room is on the 4th floor, but after entering the front desk, you have to go to the next floor and then go to the fourth floor. It is 10 floors back and forth. Although the hotel said sorry, the elevator was not repaired and it was really too painful. The family is old, 10 floors back and forth, climbing two or three times, too tired. It is recommended to ask the hotel elevator before booking.

the receptionist was super friendly and had no problem talking to me in my idoma, the truth I felt super comfortable and just with that they won me ☺️ I was alone and put me a mini room that was a past, super clean, Very well equipped even with hair dryer, had a small ventilator for if he had heat and a TV that from bed looks luxurious, an ideal size and was noticed that it was relatively new! I was super happy to recommend a lot if you travel alone because you are super comfortable and the treatment of workers is excellent 🥰🥰, in addition, with the 71 bus leaves you only 5 minutes from the hotel and then you are alone at maximum 10 minutes on that same bus from the Grand Place and the Royal!! if you are Spanish do not hesitate to visit this hotel 🤗🤗

We had a room on the first floor. Upon entering, we were missing linens for the fold-out sofa bed and the airco didn’t work. Called reception and bath issues were fixed quickly. Breakfast was great at the Renaissance next door. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Decent WiFi speed. On Friday night there was a raging party in the renaissance ballroom that didn’t quiet down as promised after 22:00. We called and nobody answered. Called several times, messaged through the app, and finally my wife went to stand in the queue of guests who couldn’t sleep. After a bit of pushing we were moved to another room, farther away from the noise. Glad the issue was sorted but the amount of noise was simply unacceptable for this property late at night and the staff was unable or unwilling to address it, leading to having to re-room at least half a dozen guests that we saw.

We paid around 45€ for one night in a double room on short notice. Pros: Prime location, very central, shopping opportunities and sights within walking distance. Parking garage can be booked at additional cost of 10€ for one day. You got your own bathroom with sink, toilet and a shower, all clean and working properly. It's cheap, let's face it, if you only want a bed and a shower at night after a day exploring the beauty of brussles, then this hotel is fine. Cons: Walls are thin and the neighbors as well as people out on the street tend to be loud. ”Double bed” is two twins pushed together that drift apart if you lie too close to the middle. Parking garage is narrow and a bit of a challenge. Cleaning service did a less than mediocre job, stains on the table as well as dirt on the floor in our room. Humidity is through the roof, feels like an indoor swimming pool.
