Our party booked 2 rooms for a total of 5 adults. Both were on the ground floor and faced each other which was handy when we wanted to see who was ready to go out. The hotel is down a quiet side street so it's very peaceful and we were not disturbed by any noise at night. The rooms faced the courtyard which remained quite dark until the sun had fully risen and the outside lighting was switched off at 6am each morning. The rooms were very warm and we actually turned the radiators off and had the windows open at night, even when the winter temperatures dipped to below zero. Our room had a bath with an overhead shower attachment which was great. The bath was lovely and deep and filled very quickly with plenty of hot water. The decor is quite sparse with simple concrete walls and floors which were cold underfoot. The small pool, I should imagine it is approximately 20-25 ft in length was heated throughout our stay but remained covered, I expect that if you wanted to use it you could ask. The outside seating area is heated, the staff will turn the heaters on and off for you whenever you wish and there's a place for a fire but we didn't make use of that. The breakfast can be decided upon each day, the staff simply take your room number when you are seated and dining each morning. We only opted for breakfast the first morning as it didn't appeal to all our tastes and cost 14 Euros per person (roughly £12). The choices on offer were continental and you could cook your own fried eggs if you chose to, I suppose you could make an omelette if you wished. There was a choice of yoghurts, fruits, bread, rolls, meat, cheeses, juices, croissants and pastries. The rooms have a kettle and a water carafe which you could fill from the dispensing machine in the dining area. The tea and coffee is available most of the time but the milk quickly gets used, we chose to take some to our rooms so we could enjoy a cuppa in private. The staff were friendly and very helpful and you can request maps of the area for free at receptions. The lighting in the hotel is rather low and there are some single steps that I saw at least 1 person stagger as they are not clearly visible. I think the lighting could be brighter which may avoid trips and falls. Overall we had a lovely stay, the rooms are not overly comfortable due to the cold flooring and the bathroom looked a little tired but nothing that detracted from the enjoyment of our visit.
