Pulled into Ivalo Hotel at 1830 in a downpour and low 60’s. Two-story hotel with two legs going off in “U” shape. Our room was nice size with twin beds. No luggage racks so had to improvise with two tables. Nice size desk with lamp and sufficient electrical outlets. Bathroom was small and no place to put toiletries. Wall mounted soap dispenser only. No hangers in closet. Basic necessities. We had a buffet dinner in the evening. The salad had lots of goodies and nice dressings. The bread was soft and fresh. Hot selection of broccoli (overcooked), scalloped potatoes, pork and salmon. All were excellent except for the overcooked broccoli. Chocolate cake and either coffee or tea for dessert. I thought this was an excellent dinner.

You won’t be disappointed at the Aurora village restaurant, the lunch buffet is value for money and the set menu for dinner is worth travelling all the way there for. No bookings are needed for lunch but must book for dinner especially during the Christmas holidays. I recommend you take the second seating as an excuse to have a Glogi or a bubbly with winter berries by their fire place. Wonderful place to relax and absorb the warm cosy atmosphere. You can request food requirements such as no eggs or no nuts in advance. Menu for the week is online. Hyvää ruokahalua!

Very friendly and helpfull service, great location in the middle of Ivalo. And very comfy overall. We were allowed to check in over 2 h early after a very stressfull flight and check out a hour late without additional charge. The room was comfy and big with a great view. Breakfast could be better but the dinner was always great.
