Hatoya Hotel

I stayed here with some anxiety after reading other people's reviews. To be honest, the exterior is not very clean, but the inside has a Showa-era a**osphere, but it was well-cleaned and very clean. I stayed in a special room, and it was even nicer than the photos on the reservation site. The bath in the room is also a hot spring, but it takes about 15 minutes to get hot, so it's better to wait patiently. I didn't want to waste water, so I asked the front desk, and they apologetically told me that it would take a while. The hot spring was only an indoor bath, but the water was pleasant. However, it was a little hot, so it might feel like a hot bath for people who don't like hot baths. The food was neither good nor bad. I thought it was a little disappointing that there was a long line to get the food, and the food couldn't be brought to the specific spot, and I couldn't take my time looking around. If you wait a little, you can go and get it at your leisure. However, dinner is divided into two parts, and there is a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes, so if you take your time, you will be asked to leave, so be careful. We also went to a bar, which had a great a**osphere, was casual and reasonably priced. The owner was also very friendly, and even though it was past closing time, he chatted with us without showing any signs of annoyance. As for souvenirs, I personally liked the Hatoya original items. They were very reasonably priced and made a great souvenir. I also bought a coin purse for myself. Personally, I thought it was a very good hotel. However, it might be a bit tough for elderly people. There might be quite a lot of going up and down the stairs. Whether you think Showa-era buildings are like this or find them inconvenient is probably a matter of personal preference.

Used on February 24, 2024 This is the original hotel (or rather, hot spring inn) of the Hatoya Group, which is famous for its commercials. As you may know, there is another one, San Hatoya, located along R135. My impression after going there was that it was just like "The Showa Era," which is Showa for better or worse. What was surprisingly good (or rather surprising) was the food and hot spring. I'm the type of person who cares about food quite a bit, so I went there without any expectations, but this was a good surprise. It was a buffet style, but in a way, I thought the seafood and meat were better than I expected. As for the hot spring, recently there has been a tendency to close once a year at midnight, but I personally like the fact that you can take a bath in the hot spring even in the middle of the night. However, what I don't like is that the location is on a slope, so if you don't load and unload your luggage in the lobby quickly, you will get stuck in a traffic jam, and there is no cloakroom. I think this point needs improvement. And the access route to the hotel is also narrow, so I feel like something needs to be done about it. In addition, the fact that the WiFi environment is only in the lobby, considering the current mobile environment of users, I think it is necessary to have it in all rooms. However, I think it is relatively passable, but the price is a little high. I think it would be better if it was a little cheaper. Personally, I think it would be better to install WiFi in all rooms and keep the rest of the rooms in a Showa-era style.

My family and I stayed at this hotel because the commercials that were shown on TV when I was a child are burned into my mind, and because I was traveling with a baby, I was looking for a hotel with a hot spring in the room. The room in the annex where I stayed had a stone bath (although there was a problem with the bath plug and it was easy for the hot water to drain), and my family, including the baby, enjoyed the hot springs slowly. The public bath was small for a hotel of this size, but I was satisfied. (The bath is also available in the Sun Hatoya seabed hot spring, so I used the shuttle bus and used that as well.) Like a Showa hotel, there is a game corner with old games near the public bath and a table tennis table. The room was quite old, and we could see some damage here and there, but the view was beautiful and the cleaning was thorough, so I didn't feel particularly dissatisfied. The first thing I was disappointed with was the food. Dinner/breakfast was a buffet style with a variety of items, and because it was Ito, the sashimi, tempura, and seafood miso soup were delicious, but the Western dishes and sushi were not delicious at all. (To be honest, I felt that it was below the level of a family.) The venue is also lacking in capacity, and it is difficult to sit down during breakfast. (Even though check-out is at 10 o'clock) I have the impression that there are not enough staff to clean up and replenish the dishes. Including this point, the meal was not worth the price. Next, there is dissatisfaction in terms of baby correspondence. For reasons of hygiene, children are not allowed to bring baby food into the dining hall, so the hotel prepared porridge for a fee, but the porridge that came out was in a retort pouch, and it was said, What's the difference between bringing it in?" I thought. . . It feels strange nowadays to charge a fee for preparing a futon for a 0-year-old child. This hotel is recommended for those who want to enjoy the hot spring in their room, those who want to be particular about the view from the hill, and those who want to enjoy the a**osphere of the Showa period, both good and bad. By the way, the shuttle bus from the station is quite packed, so I think that people with large luggage should use a taxi.
