A bit outdated and rooms need to be modernized. They have some new rooms, but apparently impossible for families to stay there. And it is very overpriced. Food is excellent though and staff is friendly.

The onsen inn is about 15 minutes walk from the JR train station. About 4 to 6 rooms in each building. Set in a pretty wooded area connected by paths and steps. Not so suitable for wheelchair. About 6 private hot spring bath huts that can fit 2 to 4 persons each. Good dinner and breakfast.

It was fantastic to go out to "no where" and relax after a busy stay in Tokyo. The train ride is quite long but the hotel is a short walk from the train station. All the different pools were fantastic and the rooms were really nice. Sleeping on the floor adds to the genuine experience but I prefer a softer bed. We got dinner and breakfast included. They were well prepared but a bit too interesting for the teenagers.

I didn't book a hotel with a beautiful sea view during this trip to Izu. I chose Hanafubuki, a hot spring hotel with an excellent location in Izu Kogen.
Izu Kogen Station is very close to the attractions. You can get there within 20 minutes by taxi. There are also several highly ranked restaurants. The hotel's location is very advantageous. It is a 10-minute walk to the train station.
