SKY-HILL HOTEL IZUKOUGEN

Ambience: The ocean view room was stunning. If I stood high enough, I could definitely see the sea! It's right next to Mt. Omuro and directly connected to Izu Zoo, perfect for a getaway! Service: But! Transportation to the hotel is quite inconvenient, being on a mountaintop, and the Izu bus stops at 5:00 PM, so be sure to plan accordingly, as the hotel doesn't offer shuttle service! Our taxi cost over 300, which wasn't very cost-effective. The hotel is around 1000 per night, which is great, but if you factor in the transportation, you could visit Kame no Ichi. The food was average, but the hot springs were pleasant and generally new. Cleanliness: The bathroom floor was a bit sticky, for some reason, and the toilet was quite old.

We stayed in four hotels during this trip to Japan, and this one was a big disappointment. My friend said we must write a review so more people can see it! Advantages: (It still has advantages) It is very close to the zoo, with a dedicated passage, and it is very convenient to enter and exit; the rooftop terrace faces the Matcha Mountain, and the view is very good; the hotel staff is friendly and the communication is smooth. Disadvantages: It was raining when we checked in, and the humidity was very high, and the quilt was damp. The quilt and sheets were not clean (see picture), which caused me to have itchy rashes all over my body. In the end, I didn't cover myself with the quilt and wrapped myself in a bathrobe, and only then could I fall asleep. The layout of the room is unreasonable, the bed is very close to the door, the sound insulation is poor, and any movement can be heard clearly. The hotel is understaffed and I only saw two staff members at the front desk and restaurant during my stay. The transportation to the hotel is inconvenient. We took taxis to and from the train station, and there was no shuttle bus. Maybe the hotel we stayed at on the first night was too good, so I felt quite disappointed staying at such a hotel on the second night (the price difference between the two hotels was not much). Please make your choice carefully when you see this review, Chinese people don’t cheat on Chinese people!

This hotel is in a great location, close to the zoo and Mt. Omuro. The hotel room is very large, equivalent to a bedroom, a living room, and an inner balcony for drinking tea. The room was very clean and facing the sea. I booked a package that included dinner and breakfast, not a buffet, but a table with a fixed time. The dishes are very exquisite, typical Japanese cuisine, especially the dinner, which is delicious one by one. The only regret is that the waiter's English is not very good, so we have to communicate slowly. The hot spring is open from 6am to 9am and from 3pm to 11pm. There is no shower in the room, so you have to go to the B1 floor to take a hot spring bath. I still like it very much. I took a hot spring bath twice in the evening and morning. Overall great!
