I really want to love Argos. Truly a wonderful concept. Visited last year and had a lovely stay so decided to repeat it. It was noisy. Partially from thumping music from next door, possibly. Partially from an inconsiderate group of people who were having a very loud conversation outside after 1am that went on for about an hour. The next morning, while enjoying coffee in the sunroom, I heard the laugh that I heard in the very early morning from outside. Turns out that it was an employee. How disappointing . They should know better than to be that disruptive.

Stayed one night at Argos Inn during my first visit to Ithaca.
Positives: very cool quirky decor in a historic building. The renovation was completed with high quality materials and thoughtful touches like the solarium self-serve coffee bar. Room was very clean! there is a lot with free parking.
Negatives: I was assigned a room on the first floor, and it was extremely loud. This included bar noise during operation and dishwashing, guests in hallway, and all noise from guests beside and above me (coughing, walking, etc.) this is probably due to thin walls but also doesn’t help that the room door has a gap. Peacock room did not have a mini-fridge unfortunately.
I would stay at Argos again, if guaranteed different room in a quieter location. I did relay this to the desk on checkout, and they recommend room 303 as the quietest.
