AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Taksim Istanbul|0.47km from Dogançay Museum
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

English is a problem. The roadside rooms are very noisy due to activity all night. Shower problematic,no safe instructions, old stained and frayed guest towels and complementary breakfast looked like it was prepared by a 5yr old for Mother’s Day. No one engages with you or is informative about anything. The bonus is that Istiklal street is literally around the but beware of the club scammers in the side streets at night.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The impact with the neighborhood is not the best, but the hotel has a good location. When I arrived, the room was not clean, there were hair residues on the bed, the coating was masked, and the floor was left to desire. I realized that the room smelled smoke as soon as I came in, which was irritating for those who do not smoke like me. The TV is not connected to the current (and if the colleagues are) lacking an antenna, there is also a air conditioner (but I don't know if it works). The bathroom has a set of 3 small saponges, shower-shampoo, balsam and shampoo. You can bring food in the room without problems. It has all the ability to become a good hotel.

The hotel is located near Taksim Square, 15 minutes away is the Galata Tower, so the location is not bad, but the area itself is questionable. The room is shabby, old, but in principle for such a price of norms, only a hostel is cheaper. Breakfast is very poor, but you can then sit in the breakfast area, work, pour tea and have access to water - in fact, it turns out to be a co-working space with good wifi. I lived on the top floor (it was a bit noisy from nightclubs) and I lived in the basement)) (noisy in the morning because they start preparing breakfast). If you are used to relaxing in the intercontinental, then you probably won’t like this hotel, to put it mildly. But if you used to live in Soviet hotels, then in principle it’s not so bad here. Suitable for people to spend a cheap night for a couple of days.

We came with 2 girlfriends for a trip to Istanbul, we chose the hotel because of its proximity, but the hotel is located in a not the best place, there are night clubs below the hotel and also escort girls further down the street. The breakfast in the hotel is Kroneplex with milk and coffee or tea, that's it. The hotel is very clean and tidy, good people.

The sewage at the door has been flowing, diagonally opposite the garbage station, next door is the collapsed house, surrounded by dangerous houses, the room is small, there is no extra plug-in, if the mobile phone and camera are charged, you must unplug the lamp or kettle to charge. The bathroom is super mini. There is no place to put the washing supplies when taking a bath. I can put it on the ground. If I bend over to get shampoo, be careful to meet. Small table, the computer is very cramped, there is no chair, I can sit on my suitcase. When booking a room, it shows 28 square meters. Is the moldy sofa on the balcony also counted as 28 square meters? This is not counted. When I first arrived, the boss gave me a smaller room of less than ten square meters and no heating. I saw it wrong and strongly asked to change the room and told him that I booked a 28-square-meter room. The boss is a very cunning person and he is very unhappy. So much so that we didn't say anything again during the three days I stayed. This is my first bad review and I strongly don't recommend this hotel.
