Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection

We decided to stay at Orientbank b/c it's a Marriott property (using points) and b/c the location is excellent to tour the city. We had debated staying here vs. one of the luxury hotels on the other side of the bridge. However, ultimately we are glad we stayed here as we were able to walk to all the tourist destinations. The hotel is also a couple blocks from the Grand/Spice bazaars. The street location of the hotel threw us off as it's right in the middle of 3 cross streets, though once we got over the initial shock, we loved it. It reminded us a lot of Gringotts (if you are a HP fan). The hotel is very small and actually was converted from a bank. It's also very new (opened only 11 months ago). The bank concept is used in various places and it's a nice touch. The lobby area is spacious with plenty of couches for people ot sit and get checked in or meet people. Lobby is also where breakfast is served - it can get crowded and busy in the mornings. The check in was very easy, Zanieb sat us down, explained the hotel and the surrounding areas. She walked us to our room and explained how the room worked as well. Throughout our stay she remembered our name and was very helpful in helping us understand where to go, whether it was to eat or for my wife to get her hair done (as her straightener had busted). Zaneib was also incredibly helping via email conversations as she helped arrange airport transfers. While everyone at the hotel was helpful, we felt Zanieb went above and beyond in her service and ensuring we had an excellent stay. We had a deluxe room which we were upgraded to from the standard room and still felt it was extremely small. The rooms are european style with the bed taking up most of the space. Luckily we had a small sitting area where we were able to put our large suitcases. The bathroom is also small and right next to the bed. Needless to say, there's no real sound privacy when you are in the bathroom with your significant other in bed. Regardless, this was expected as it's an european style rooms. Plus we were barely in the room except to get ready and sleep so we didn't mind. However, if we had a child with us, the deluxe room wouldn't have been big enough for the 3 of us. While we were there, they were in process of opening up a cigar lounge on the rooftop. Zanieb had offered to show us but we never got the time. The primary/dinner restaurant is in the basement which also functions as a jazz club. On Fri and Sat night they have live music and seem to charge cover. However, I hope cover is not charged to hotel guests. We only visited the restaurant the first night we were there. it was empty but the food was good and the ambience is great. Overall it's a great hotel. The staff is amazing and the location is perfect. I would stay here over any of the large luxury resorts on other side of the bridge.

AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Taksim Istanbul|2.7km from Turkey İş Bank Museum
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Grand Sirkeci Hotel

Initially, we thought that we might not get accepted on the flight due to the government restrictions, but we got lucky as we had made booking way before. I had booked and cancelled a couple of hotels on booking.com, as I was not sure of the hotel's look and feel. I usually don't go on positive reviews (Ironic, because I'm writing one he he...) So we left at the IST airport somewhere about 09:00 PM, finding a taxi was easy(but taxies can be expensive, ask your Taxi to run on the meter), the temperature was about 2 deg Celsius, after leaving the warmth of Bangalore at about 28 deg celsius, this was pretty cold. We reached the hotel, warm welcome at the front desk with Turkish tea, we were shown our room before checking in. Went to the room and crashed for the night. Woke up at about 6:00 am did my prayers and woke up my family, to breakfast (7:00 am to 10:00 am) The restaurant was on the 5th Floor, they were already serving when we entered. Breakfast buffet; we were handed cheese and jam plates as we entered, and then extra plates for the rest of the buffet, they were serving the buffet as a part of COVID preventive measure(nice!) Left for our first tour to the Hagia Sophia (short 20 min. walk), only later did we find that there was a tram to this place. The walk was worthwhile(awesome actually), you get to see the architecture of the old streets with no sand in sight, all covered with stones and made to last all these years like you've entered an old sherlock holmes movie. The lighting and small shops all along the way, where your family stops to pick up little souvenirs. Finally, we get to see the grand Hagia Sophia with all it's historic glory still standing strong after seeing all these centuries of battles and wars, I wonder what those walls have witnessed... moving on to the blue mosque (too bad it was getting a makeover) we could not get to see the design and domes from the inside as they were all covered with construction planks. On to the Grand Bazaar... careful here... you may want to bargain a lot here before you can get a good deal, don't fall for the first price. and then we visited many other places in the coming days and headed back home. Thanks for reading!

Sadly I only stayed in this elegant hotel for one night on my return home from an extended month in Europe. It is comfortable and very well located. My only quibble is the view from my balcony was not exactly beautiful as I stared straight into the ramshackle roof of a neighbourly building. The bar on the top floor is a must with a gorgeous view of the vibrant Bosporus. What really makes this place special is the warmth and sincerity of the staff. Rarely do I highlight individuals but Valeria on the front desk is a rich asset. She is friendly and hospitable to all and makes everyone feel welcome. So five stars for the hotel and six for Valeria!

The hotel has just opened. As a location, in a great area. It is very suitable for public transport vehicles. I have 24 hours of reception service. The best hotel I have stayed in this area! Workers are laughing and interested. I recommend this hotel in the heart of the Fatih area. You can see the Egyptian market from the window of your room. Thank you! :)

Everything was great. Especially hotel staff was very helpful and always positive and smiling. Location of hotel is really really good, it is within the walking distance to GALATA Tower, Beyoglu street, Topkapi Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque, Misir Carshisi. Moreover, for shopping there are many souvenir shops and brand magazines, lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms have great view of Sea, the only cons is that rooms are minimal sized.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mest Hotel and it was a fantastic location too. Our room was super clean and spacious too. The cleaner was such a lovely individual whom we thank a lot for their fantastic housekeeping. The staff were very attentive and so helpful whenever we needed anything. Particularly, we would like to thank Samed, Yunus, Sumeyye and the Technical personnel for making our stay very memorable. Also, a special thank you to Fatih for his guest relations and for giving us some great advice on navigating the city. Whenever we requested anything from reception, it was provided very quickly. The breakfast was brilliant, so much variety and the quality of the food was delicious and we had some breathtaking views of the Yeni Mosque in the mornings. The location itself was excellent, the hotel is tucked within a busy area of markets and bustle but no noise would come into the room. The hotel is also within walking distance of Sultanahmet, however, the hotel location itself had great shopping and dining options too. There were also bus and tram links nearby but I would recommend walking as much as you can to experience the city. I would HIGHLY recommend his hotel for anyone who is a first time visitor or like us who have come a few times. Very much looking forward to coming again and thank you to all the wonderful staff that made our stay so pleasant!

I would say all the price is for the location near sultanahmet & the tram station nearby. The property looks outdated and the rooms are not so well kept or equipped. Actual rooms differ from the what are shown during the booking process. The hotel have got centralised air conditioned system managed by the hotel management. During our visit we had to ask them to provide us with a fan as the room was super hot and suffocating due to central heating. The bathroom was clean but the sink was small and had drainage issues. Beds were comfortable and the linen were clean. Room service need to be a little pro active as I asked to be provided 2 water bottles to keep my fast which were never provided. I don’t think I’d chose to stay there again for the price provided.
