Splendid Palace Hotel We had a day trip to Buyukada one of the Princes islands just a short 45 min ferry ride. We had lunch at the beautiful historic Splendid Palas Hotel. The hotel interior is filled with antiques from the owners grandparents, and you can see the love and legacy to the family by the stunning tasteful decor and photos. The restaurant menu was a mix of Turkish and European cuisine and we all had an absolutely delicious lunch. Wonderful fresh and seasonal ingredients beautifully presented and served. The kofte and steak were the best! Friendly and efficient staff who anticipated our every need - a true sign of professionalism in hospitality. Thank you Bulent and Rashida - you were amazing! We are definitely going back when we next visit Istanbul and I can't recommend it enough - it was such a gorgeous end to our trip.

We were a bit concerned about coming here after reading the reviews, but the experience turned out wonderful. First, we got a nice room for a good rate (the hotel was almost empty when we came) and everyone was very nice. It’s true that the hotel has a very special old time atmosphere (we wanted to change for a cheaper option after couple of days but it was already so hard to leave). The interiors are awesome and very stylish, the views from the hotel are magnificent. The reception is very helpful except we did have to ask for some things a few times but eventually we did get them (unlike other hotels in Turkey). Generally the place is very friendly and has a nice vibe. There are some things about the room of course - like old ceilings, stains on the carpet which were quiet unpleasant, and main disadvantage of the hotel - it’s made of wood so you feel like everyone walking is inside your room, but the atmosphere of this place is worth these disadvantages. Very beautiful pool (it’s very cold though, would be nice to heat it), tasty breakfast - nothing special but everything is super fresh and we really enjoyed it. Overall, definitely one of the hotel experiences we will remember and will love to repeat.

Stayed here after a hectic few days doing the sights of Istanbul. What a gem! More than just old world charm: a beautiful hotel, amazing views, delicious food and incredible service. On arrival we were upgraded to a sea view room (26) and our bags whisked away to a delightful high ceiling medium sized room with fantastic view out to sea. the pool was tranquil, dinner was delicious and the bed and bedding fresh and firm. What an absolute joy all round. Not called the Splendid Palace for nothing.

We spent 5 days at this historical hotel. However, despite the impressive interiors and atmosphere, the overall stay was disappointing. Let me share why, based on my feedback and facts: * The check-in took hours, with no welcome drinks, Wi-Fi, and excuses. I still don't know the reason behind the delay, as the hotel employees couldn't explain it due to their lack of English proficiency. * The pool was closed for 2/5 days, a significant disappointment for me since it was a primary reason for booking this hotel, especially considering the unfavorable weather for beach outings. Additionally, the terrace was under renovation for 2 days, causing noise disturbances in the room. I shared my concerns with the reception staff, mentioning that such inconveniences during the peak season in August were quite overwhelming. Regrettably, they took no action to address our discomfort or compensate it. * The breakfast offerings were very limited, featuring canned orange juice despite the abundance of fresh oranges in Turkey. The selection of hot dishes was minimal and repeated each day during our 5-day stay. The water provided had an unpleasant odor and taste, making it undrinkable. To make matters worse, I discovered moldy bread, which I promptly brought to the attention of the chef. Surprisingly, he only discarded one piece, despite the obvious damage to the entire basket. * I also cannot recommend the hotel restaurant for dinner. The food was overpriced and lacked balance in terms of taste. Overall, the impression I got was that this hotel is suitable only for a photoshoot, not for an extended stay. Expect apathy from the hotel staff, subpar food, and inadequate service.

It's a million $ experience (for much less money), room lovely, breakfast spread excellent, terrace view unforgettable. But the staff, though numerous, are 'headless' and lazy. They all need role training and some need the sack! On a Monday the place was barely 15% occupied and we were the only evening diners! (food looked much better then it tasted)

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday and hated the whole experience. They turn the entrance of the hotel (seriously!) into a night club and the loud horrendous dance music didn't stop until 1am. This is a historic hotel, not a dance club. The day we arrived, they told us they had an "Italian night" and that there would be music until midnight. They didn't tell us it was it was going to be like a freaking disco. At midnight I went to the reception desk and they apologized and said they would turn the music down. It didn't happen. Plus, don't stay on cheaper rooms on the ground floor. The kitchen is next to those rooms and people working the "nightclub" are super loud and they don't care if you ask them to be quiet, which we did. Those rooms are not supposed to be rooms at all. They are loud. The only good thing I can tell about this hotel is that it was clean and looked pretty. That's it. I wouldn't pay all that money for that if I knew about the "night club", which they MUST tell their customers beforehand. The hotel was so crowded that day that we also couldn't even use the pool. It was just utter unprofessional treatment that we received. And as we were leaving early on Sunday (because we were so upset), we complained and they still had the audacity to ask for 45 liras for two freaking bottles of water! That is an obscene amount of money. So do yourselves a favor and don't stay there. It is the most overrated hotel I have ever seen, unless maybe if you're staying during weekday or something. Never again.

Poolside dirty and baths requires heavy maintenance. Historical building using unearthed electric sockets where you can see electric sparks when plugging in ( fire danger). Personal care products in room 3rd class. Slow and bad service

It's a disappointing place. The hotel owner and staff are arrogant and disrespectful. With their arrogant attitude and scolding as if they were staying for free, it is a place where you are guaranteed to have a bad experience. I wish they would decorate their mentality and respect as much as the interior decoration.

Quite an expensive hotel with an inappropriately low level of service. When checking into two rooms for 3 people each, linen and towels were offered only for 2 people/room. That is, guests are very welcome)) And if you want to live in a historical building, when your children are literally shushed by granny guards like a museum, while playing in the lobby (adults 12-14 years old, that is, not shouting, but just games) - then choose with confidence. There is no staff at the pool; towels (or thin scarves? - nothing else is offered) for the pool were found only on the last day of your stay. The breakfasts are good, but the lady with the coffee looks so tired that you don’t want to contact her again. Problems with spoons, yogurt is apparently supposed to be eaten with forks. There is no coffee machine in the dining room, but there is a small nespresso machine in the room, but to turn it on you have to find an outlet, there is none next to the table (in 2 rooms - none nearby), you had to rearrange the furniture to plug it in. In addition, in the greeting it was written that every day 2 capsules are offered as a compliment, in 5 days they put 2 pieces. The towel shelf in the shower broke and remained broken for 5 days. There is no iron in the room. The mattress is of average quality. Linen and towels are good. There is no air conditioning, the fan is only in one room out of two rooms in the room. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and it’s terrible, there’s simply no beach nearby, all the normal beaches are on the neighboring islands. If you want aesthetics for two, then this hotel is suitable. Interesting things to see on the island - for a couple of days maximum.
